You would be surprised to know that using a VW engine on an original VW floorpan is quite normal

(This is a Dyane body slapped onto a VW chassis.)
And not only is it a crappy VW engine, it has twice the power of an original Dyane

What about Alice Cooper's V8 powered DS ? With rear wheel drive

That is a beautiful travesty! It would be nice if it still has the hydro-pneumatic suspension though.
