For Jim:

The finish line of le tour de France !!

Just one day too late. I am sure that it would have been impossible to take a photo from there yesterday.

Magic 8-) Yes, it would have been a little bit different yesterday! Just like our events in that once it's all over we can be gone in minutes and leave no trace we were ever there!

In Nice they were dismantling a lot of grandstands along the streets leading to the finish.

I noticed that some of the streets on the course have tram tracks. Do they cover those for the race? I can't imagine racing wheels getting on with them.

I'd certainly hope so Mike... Get a wheel in one and you're off for sure... I once nearly lost it when my front wheel got caught up in a road joint that had opened up just wider than my wheel and was about an inch deep... Just managed to save it...

Today I succumbed to overwhelming temptation and have acquired a sister for Bluebell...

Slightly older, smaller of engine, one less gear in the 'box, low of mileage and of very low spec...

She's very red and very tidy...

a 1989 AX10E with a good dashboard. That alone is worth a lot... Bluebell's is starting to turn into a jigsaw and will soon need some serious attention...

I have known the car for a few years and the owner for many more... He's letting this AX go to make room for a new project, rumoured to be a Bijou :D

No date arranged for collection yet.

Bluebell will be staying with me but Pix may not...

Already "famous" on Flickr Jim...from 2020. Not much of a story to the pic...just a random shutter click from a passing car enthusiast. Nice comments though, "Looks to be incredibly original too!" , "That looks very tidy" and "That's a Stunner" :-D

A recent addition locally, which ties in with a keeper change earlier this year. Only 34k at last MOT, this got me quite jealous as I really liked my early AXs.

Enjoy your car, Jim, I'm sure its inevitable you will come up with something suitable to name your new acquisition and it will soon become known as such on the forum. I have to admit personally I cringe at such things although about 40 years ago we had a white Metro we called "Stan" as it had a STN reg and my Grandpa was called Stan!

Having said what I have said, suggestions from me for a name would be a bit hypocritical so here they are....obviously ignore them! :-D
Spoiler: show
Summer! (the season of acquisition) Julia/Julius (the month of acquisition) RedX (yes cos it sounds like Redex)

Unless she's already named, Poppy is the current front-runner... A name I like. Whatever she's called, the flower theme must be followed ;)

Definitely a bit forlorn, poor little thing :(

I often wonder what happened to my old C1...

Giving Bluebell a little love today by applying bumper snot to her plastic bits. They were badly in need of it. It goes on a treat in this lovely warm weather...
