It being a gorgeous sunny day here, I took the opportunity to give Polly a pre-M0T as she's due next month...

Absolutely nothing to report. She's fine in all areas

My rattle gun makes it so easy to undo wheel studs The front wheels were well stuck due to a bit of corrosion on their centres and needed a few soft-faced mallet taps to release them. No such problem in the future as I've cleaned up and put a bit of anti-seize where needed...

The rears were no problem as they had already been treated to some anti-seize.

Diagnostics tell me she's regenerating her DPF around every 500 miles...

I checked my rear brake pads as the main dealer told me they were 60% worn at the last service. They were talking bollocks, as they were with the suspected urea injection fault

Speaking of urea, the tank is bigger than I'd have expected... I worry that it's very exposed and vulnerable...

I ran up Bluebell whilst running diagnostics on Polly and she's fine too... Not a spot of coolant used since last time... She was a bit naughty though, she set the garage smoke detector off She produces just a little puff of blue smoke when she first starts from cold and that was enough!

After all that, I couldn't waste the lovely sunshine still remaining so I went for a brisk bike ride - more useful duathlon training

Your right, I completely forgot Jim was a trapeze artist as well as doing Parkruns, cycling, semi pro go karting, owner of a blue TARDIS called bluebell which got him the 300hundred year old bearings and writing articles for the Citroeneon. I've probably missed something out..... I forgot Flapjack connoisseur.....

Yes, it's my DeWalt rattle gun Ryan. A brilliant little tool...

No stands and jack only as I was not going under the car. Just slipped the wheel off to check the stuff behind it... Had the jack started to sink or failed, be sure I was nowhere near any risk

Now if I was venturing underneath stands would have been used.

Be happy I know what I'm doing Ryan. I've been around cars all my life and over 20 of those include hydraulic Citroens. I'm still here, uninjured and unscathed - mostly

Yes, had them since my apprentice days... They're brilliant! Got them at the same time I got my long stand, glass hammer and tin of tartan paint

Polly's MoT is now booked I called into the garage during my morning run...

Soon off out on the bike with friends to one of my fave spots - Salcey Forest

Tuesday is my shopping morning and after a stack of parkrun admin I was indeed running a bit late but deliberately delayed my run so as to catch the garage as it opened. All carefully planned

An excellent bike ride up to the Forest today in the most excellent of company And good training for Sunday in that it rained continually for the whole 30 miles; weather I fully expect to have for the duathlon. it'll be unusual if it's nice and fine... It rarely has been in the past history of this event

I used to be a pentathlete, football, cricket, golf, tenpin bowling and table tennis. (Ignoring the motorsports) But as you get older you gain extra things along the way which tend to reduce your abilities. The worst thing I have gained is a letter 'S'. :
