I used to race 100cc karts in the 1980s Due to my size, in the International class... Huge fun

My race number was 67. A number I use now when racing time trials and at Big Bear running events... Permanently mine...

That said, I was not a tremendously good kart racer... My biggest skill was in engine and chassis overhauls and rebuilds...

I'm heavier than Jim, that could work downhill!! But having said that I'm the type of person that flips on waterslides and nearly falls out, this could be death for me....

It's been a bit of a car day today, checking them over and checking all is good. Happily all is Polly especially, will be busy this week.

I needed to wake Bluebell today and take her outside so the roofers could gain access to my garage attic to fix a broken tile. It was snapped in half and had torn the felt a tiny bit but not a drop of water had leaked in.

I couldn't resist taking Bluebell for a short drive, given the roads were bone-dry and well washed of all salt... She is such a joy to drive and I still think she's far and away better than any of the cars that superseded her, not least the Saxo.

I was pleased to see no sign of any steam from Bluebell's radiator after a good run today

Whilst she was out of the garage, it gave me an opportunity to clean up and evict a treeful of leaves that had blown in under the garage doors over the winter months...

I've now fixed that by making up a couple of big 'sausages' to act as leaf/draught excluders at the bases of the doors
