Standard DAB, as mostly employed in the UK, certainly does. Unfortunately we were early adopters and are mostly stuck with this outdated low-fi system. Later adopters were able to benefit from the DAB+ system which can give much better quality in the same amount of radio spectrum. There are a few DAB+ stations in the UK but they are currently few and far between.myglaren wrote:As this has been postponed a couple of times already it may not happen - especially as I have heard that DAB radio leaves a lot to be desired.

Yes I am aware of the plans but the annoyance is current. In fact the LW broadcasts could finish at almost any time as there are a limited number of output valves left for the LW transmitter and when they are exhausted, having apparently bought the world's entire stock, then LW broadcasts will be over.

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
I tried the updated lexia on my 2011 1.6 e-hdi vtr+ egs6 but it the lexia still will not reconise the egs6 gearbox. There are no fault codes for the engine ecu but I carn't get to the gearbox ecu. What do you think I should try next.

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
What are you actually trying to do and and what version of Diagbox are you running? I would urge caution - this is a complicated system, so be careful

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
I am using Diagbox 7.57. I was wanting to see if there were any fault codes on the egs6 gearbox to see why it temporally keeps going into manual and then into auto. It should to be in first gear by the time you come to a stop but it is always still in 6th. This problem will happen two or three times in any one journey.

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
Have you run the Global Test first? Always run that, write the fault codes down, clear the faults and then re-run the global test to clear out any older codes. If there are any permanent fault codes remaining after this, let us know what they are.

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
I ran the global test but it did not pickup on the gearbox. There are no codes present on the engine ecu but Lexia can't detect the gearbox ecu so I don't know what is going on there. I took the car back and they admitted that there is a fault on the gearbox so are sending the car to Leeds to a gearbox specialist on Tuesday to let them have a look. I now have a nice c4 to run around in so am not left high and dry.

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
Hi folks, I have just got hold of a cheap lexia clone from the dreaded evil bay. At this time I've only installed the old standalone lexia as only need it to talk to our 98 xantia with the al4 box. Which it appears to do no problem at all. I'm running (as I understand it anyway) v45 of the software.
Am I right in thinking that the earlier v42 will give me more functionality ? And if so, has anyone still got a copy of v42 they wouldn't mind doing a copy of please?

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
Hi Guy's
My diagbox 7.74 will not read my gear box ecu on a 2011 c5 with egs6 gearbox. I have read that new car's need a S.1279 module for PPS2000 Lexia-3 so as the DiagBox can read new cars. What is it and do you think I need it??????

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
No, this is wrong. You do NOT need the S.1279 module. That is the add-on module for some of the vehicles that were jointly developed with FIAT and some of the commercial vans such as the Peugeot Bipper, Peugeot Boxer III, Peugeot Boxer III minibus, Citroen Nemo, Citroen Jumper III, Citroen Jumper III minibus etc. and is called the S.1279 - you won't need this for the C5 X7.renagade wrote:Hi Guy's

Further, I note you have updated to 7.74. Version 7.62 is a good stable version, but versions above this have telecoding features removed. I'm not saying this is your issue - but you will need a full chip revision C to talk to all the components in newer cars. In this case later versions are not always better. What firmware is your VCI - if auto updating has been enabled (default) then it should of upgraded your VCI to firmware version 4.3.3 which it needs to run with this version, but this generally won't work if you have updated an older Revision B interface.

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
Sorry my bad, I ment to say I had upgraded DiagBox 7.57. I understand about the S.1279 module now.

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
I have recently bought a new lexia interface, as my old one is very old and would probably not work with the 2011 308.
I bought a clone directly from China, and the hardware seems to be OK.
I have installed diagbox v7.6.2 and that also seems to be OK.
But...
When connected to the 308, everything is OK, except the injection/ignition ECU is not recognised - this is not a communication error.
If I select (more or less at random) an injection ECU type from the list, it will communicate and read the identification info, and even some parameters, but the parameter values are random numbers.
So my conclusion is that the ECU software upgrade that the dealer applied to the car last month (and I can read the upgrade history from the ECU) has updated the diagnostic interface version to something that needs a later version of diagbox.
I see that there have been earlier posts in this topic from people with unrecognised transmission ECUs, maybe they have the same problem.

Re: Merged Lexia & Diagbox threads
Are you sure it isn't a CAN comms issue Mike - the 308 is well known to be troublesome with some of the clones and C5s. I have updates available for you if you want to try - but I doubt it will make any difference as this version is fine on vehicles 2015 and later. It should still be able to read the Engine ECU as the identification info won't change regardless of the software update. As you've probably already read in the thread, versions beyond the one you have do start to have some telecoding features removed on some vehicles. Did you check the interface revision with the PSA Checker to see if it reports as a revision 'C' ?
