Re: Classic for over £10K
Today we have undeniable truth that the world has lost all sense of value!! The cars on sale at the moment show the state of desire over logic that prevails in Classic Car enthusiasts. Have a look at these offerings and compare their bids and you'll see what I mean

Fifty grand for an old Fraud is outrageous! Not so many years ago even scrapyards turned their noses up at them...

Re: Classic for over £10K
There might be only the one person daft enough to pay that much so other sellers might get scrap value. Wonder if the buyer has to pay the extra road tax for a list price over £40k.

Car lost by Johnny Hallyday at poker sold for €132,000
(Beeb)
A classic car owned by the late French rock star Johnny Hallyday before he lost it at poker has sold for €132,000 ($143,000; £110,000) at auction.
The Panther De Ville was given to him in 1975 by his then-wife, fellow singer Sylvie Vartan. Its custom-made fittings include mink seats, a gold disc on top of the grille and hubcaps carrying his initials.
French auction house Osenat told the BBC that the vehicle was bought by a French man for "a specific project, which he will discuss shortly", and the buyer had to pay an additional buyer's premium of €26,400.
Hallyday lost the car while playing poker with a friend in 1977.

Estimate of £115,000 - £130,000 they reckon.

Something a bit more utilitarian
"1941 Bedford MWD 15 CWT Lorry
Estimate £******** - £*********,
Lot details
Year: 1941
Make: Bedford
Model: MWD 15 CWT Lorry
Registration: 361 XVT
Chassis No: 55220
Engine No: 55220
Mileage: 36,636
In very good useable condition
Featured in SAS Rogue Heros
The Bedford MW 15 CWT lorry was a versatile military vehicle used primarily by British forces during World War II. The truck was designed for a wide range of logistical and transport duties, proving crucial in the transportation of troops, ammunition, equipment, and supplies across various terrains. The MWD was a cargo lorry with a general service body while 15 CWT indicates a 15-hundredweight (or 750kg) payload capacity. Introduced in the early years of the war, the Bedford MWD 15 CWT was powered by a 3.5 litre, six-cylinder engine, delivering a reliable performance for its time. Despite lacking four-wheel drive and so being unsuited for off-road use, the MW's powerful engine, short wheelbase, low centre of gravity and relatively light weight gave it excellent acceleration and almost sportscar like handling. The Bedford MWD was widely used by the British Army, Royal Air Force, and other allied forces, becoming one of the most iconic military trucks of the era. It was adaptable, often used as a cargo carrier, ambulance, or even as a platform for mounting weapons. Its reliability, combined with its ease of maintenance, made it a staple of military transport throughout the war, continuing to serve well into the post-war period.

Re: Classic for over £10K
In Egypt we attended to one of those which when being used for ammunition transport had gone on fire, the driver and his mate abandoned it before the ammo went up and it burned out.
Our job was to examine it and organise salvage, it must have been very very hot, the road springs had got so hot they sagged at both ends.
We found the only thing salvageable was the prop shaft and arranged for it to be picked up next day on a transporter, when the transporter got there they found the Arabs had nicked the propshaft.
