Having said that I will also have joined Steve and Neil in the ranks of non french car owning FCF members but that will be corrected at some point in the future. I will leave the FCF sticker in the back of the car as a prompt for its new keeper and we'll have to see if it reappears on here! :-D
Yes well you can add me to that list :-). The thing about FCF is that it seems to attract a certain kind of person, curious, can-do, helpfull just to name a few characteristics I can't explain it completely but the kind of people here are generally very different to those that congregate on the UK Lexus site, maybe that's related to the choice of car, I mean you had to have had a degree of masochism to take on a hydraulic Citroen :-)
Trouble is that now Citroens are no different to much else that is on the road indeed try as I might it is difficult to think of of anything available that has the reputation and corresponding low secondhand prices that a hydraulic Citroen had :-).
Which leads me to wonder where this site will ultimately go.

Well, I have to say, I did think after personally owning nothing but Hydropneumatic / Hydractive Citroens since I was 17 (excluding many other company and family cars) that I was going to part company with PSA after I recently sold on my range topping X7 Exclusive - the last of the Hydractive models ever. But we still have the C3 for the present which will be sold after lock down and then I went and bought a 2020 C3 Aircross!

So looks like I'm with the marque a while longer. I do get those occasional 'better the devil you know' feelings when I have thought about jumping ship - but the PSA penny pinching is still going the way of the Mars bar - shaving a little off here and there to save a few pence.... or at least they are with Citroen at any rate. Example being - they decided to save a few quid by removing the rear passenger cup holders in the folding centre console for 2020, then they decided to remove the glovebox lighting, oh and while they were at it, the driver's side ceiling grab handle too, and the front passenger armrest ....

The deed is done and I have a fully functional screen with umpteen modes to play with. I suspect it can even show me when my toenails need cutting judging by what I've seen so far :-D

It is such a shame that I had to change the car because I couldn't get a replacement ECU!! :-D

I'm lost Mick - scanning the posts, I still can't work out what car you have bought now - it's obviously not a PSA vehicle, so can you enlighten me?

Yes Mick, you need to change your vehicular line-up in your "My Cars".

Yes thanks Paul, done now. Laptop getting wrecked yesterday didn't help so I am having to use the phone and my old tablet, which is why I didn't get the pictures of the Subaru up until after midnight last night!! Sorry about that Marc, I have got to go on a three week course to learn how to use all the screens now! More pics on POTD! :-D

On the subject of badges, a little bit of linked trivia. In Japanese the word 'subaru' is their name for the constellation pleides or Seven Sisters as we call it. Proverbially one sister or star is always invisible so the Subaru badge only has 6 stars!! Aren't you glad you found that out? :-D

How does that compare with the C5 on the insurance price Mick?

Believe it or not the insurance is £200 pa cheaper and the tax only £3 a month dearer! I can only assume that the 4wd is considered safer and the fact that it is a legacy not an impreza makes it far less attractive to hooligans :) Also the saving is comparing best price which was from Esure with my last year price. It is due for renewal at the end of next month so I will see if that difference holds :)

Often wondered about the stars in the logo but never got around to doing any find-outing.
