And it's come in very handy for knocking off wall tiles that seem to have been cemented on using Araldite

Masonry chisel? They can be used in conjunction with a hammer to cut some peoples cooking! I know of bread that could have been used as house bricks!

Got it there James in all but the actual name on the card!! It looked like it had been inserted where you would normally have used a packing wedge to level the worktop, or the fitter was simply careless with his tools!!

mason's chisel?

That's sneaky!! I just said that...

I didn't know that bolster was another term for the mason's chisel. I just looked up the correct term for my previous attempt, and got that as a response.

It's more of a slang term, a bolster is used in concrete etc, it's basically a wide chisel that gets hit on the end with a hammer, but only when it comes to hard materials, chisels are for soft materials

Just about to post that and saw there was a nuther page

I searched high and low for on of mine last week. Kids must have them. Needed to cut a deeper back box to fit new light switches in the kitchen. Ended up using cold chisels.
