No need to update if it is working fine.

Hi
Well I tried the Lexia 7.2 on my 2011 c5 e-HDI with the egs6 and it was having none of it, there were just loads of cannot communicate with eci ,bsi ,gear box/clutch, so I guess I will have to get a proper version for the car. Any ideas who would be able to supply me with one.

Thanks guy,s

Ok, you may need a more recent update to the firmware, I'm thinking you will need 4.3.3. This will normally be installed as part of a later Diagbox version automatically. I am in town now (dentiist), but when I get home later this afternoon I'll pm you with an upgrade link for you to update from my filestore. This may only work if you have a full chip unit though, but worth a shot.

Great thanks hope the dentist is gentle with you.
What is this full chip set all about. I got the Lexia off ebay and I think that it may just be a cheap set. I want to adjust my clutch on my egs6 car.

Basically, not all clones are created equal! Some of the heaped copies from china sold on the bay won't work with the C5, especially the new models. Some of the clones are missing the NEC capacities and the 10k resistor needed to communicate with certain vehicles. If this is the case, it may not work. Nothing lost with an update to try first. I'll be home in an hour and a bit.

That would be easydiagnostics, not the cheapest, but they have backup and don't sell the cheap kits, but the European made ones IIRC. Let's just see if the update will fix this. I'll get you the updates to 7.58 which is a known stable version, before they started removing telecoding features.

Not sure I understand - the link is still valid. Just access the French Car Forum from your Lexia laptop, go to your private messages and my message should still be there. If you mean you've deleted the message, then I'll forward it on again.

What happened? Remember you'll need the Diagbox cleaner to properly uninstall it as the add remove progs won't remove all the registry entries. Let me know if you want me to dial in and sort it.

GiveMeABreak wrote:Right in that case your abs esp error will very likely be the steering wheel angle sensor out of kilter. I did this when changing a steering wheel on my older C5 years ago. It is important that you don't let the cassette move round when tackling any job arround that area. It should be marked with an arrow. You will need the Lexia to set it back. There are a few videos on the tube that show this IIRC. Best of luck with the job.
Just wanted to say thanks for the help. Stuck the £23 C5 unit on there, lost the ESP/ABS lamp without even connecting to Diagbox, still had airbag though. Hooked up, found airbag code had changed to a new one, but the existing codes weren't there any more. Did some research, found it was likely that the comms unit was no good, but there was a remote chance it was the airbag. Found an old airbag that came with some other kit, fitted that - bingo! All lights off, hooked up Diagbox to calibrate steering input sensor and delete remaining codes.

407 now MoT'd and on the road. Owes me about £120 so far! Result :-D
