Congratulations Jim! The award is for second in class, but which class?

It was an exceptionally fine day, but the sun got a bit much for some of us.

I had a good chat with the owner of the yellow V12 e-type roadster, who ordered the car to his own speciation from the factory in 1973. It is a superbly presented car.

Would I have won the C8 award as the only that's left on the planet it seems. I will definitely be taking a closer look at Bluebell next time I see her!

The classes were age related - up to 1950, 1950s, 60s, 70s, 80-2003 which Jim won runner up in losing out to an exceptional MK1 RS2000, then there was Military and 4X4, Motorcycle, Camper, Convertible and overall. A great time was had by all who attended I'm sure!!

One bit of trivia... Two of we award winners live in the same road in Paggers... One of my close neighbours won with his Fiesta RS Turbo

I must admit Mike, the match is very close

I'm still torn between what was my absolute favourite in the show... It's a dead heat between the Renault GTA and the MG Maestro...

Thinking on, I was amazed at what wasn't there, hardly any British Leyland - no Metros, very few Minis, not one 1100 or 1300, no Maxi, Landcrab, Allegro or Marina And hardly any Rootes... Just one Humber Sceptre and no Arrow Series (Hunters etc.), Avengers or Imps... The nearest we got was an Imp-engined kit car...

And very few French, just a really superb Renault 4CV, the GTA, a lightly modded Pug 106GTi and a lovely Renault 10...

The field may have been diluted a little as on my way home I noticed a small car show had taken place in Olney...

That's very true! I did see a PA Cresta on my way home

Do they have a section for classic mechanics? I worked on most of that stuff before it became 'classic'.

The Zodiac convertible reminded me of the guy who had one with a lots of underbody rust damage, he had it up on stands at each end while he did a lot of welding underneath then found the body had sagged in the middle and he couldn't open and close the doors , he jacked it up supported it in the middle and heated the frame up underneath until the sag was corrected.

Enjoyed a superb run last evening, the Cattle Creep 10K

It was a very hot one and many wilted in the heat... We witnessed a spectacular stampede of a herd of cows who decided they wanted to join us as we ran across their field...

It's surprising just how fast a cow can run - faster than the average human, that's for sure!

One lady runner was terrified of the cows, burst into tears and asked me to run with her and protect her until we reached safety... Naturally, I was happy to

This weekend is a special one in the running calendar. I'll be taking part in MK24 - a 24 hour endurance run. I can't run for the full 24 hours as I have other things to do early on Sunday morning and no way can I stay awake for that amount of time!
