I think I'll take that into the trivia investigation thread Mick, I have heard of it odd name, probably on here, but no idea where it is produced.

Peer to Peer

I believe that's what they call it. Facilitated by the mobile phone App, and flowing into all sorts of different applications from hiring out parking spaces, to hiring out your own car, to the enormous AirBnB hiring out your room(s)/ house.

A couple of organisations are facilitating the hire out of your home charger.

A recap....
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 14 Mar 2023, 13:30 Full Access Pass: London – Brighton – Paris. – 359m/577km Price for one ticket £200.

Question would you read that as one ticket to cover 2 people one car, or would two people one car require 2 tickets. :?:

The Newhaven to Dieppe ferry at that time of year and times, for a return looks like around £155 on its own without booking a cabin.

So far nothing positive, I am thinking of seeing if I can get a dealer to loan me a car for the weekend but the tricky bit about that is the need to take it abroad. Failing that, I have an outside chance of talking an owner I know into undertaking the event. I have spoken to the local charity that I do volunteer driving for and can represent them to raise money by sponsorship so that the dealers may look favourably on being involved in charity fundraising. I have managed to borrow a number of vehicles over the years on that sort of basis! :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Interesting Mick. No doubt complications abound but It should be possible to hire an EV. I've featured some Car Club posts recently with the big player being enterprise. They have ev's in their fleet but the car club depends on an annual membership of £60/year or £7/month. An EV like the Leaf on the Standard Plus membership, (and the newer ones have more range) looks to be £83.60/day with 60 free miles/day additional miles at 14p/mile.

May be addons for driving in France and may not be allowed.

Two free chargers (well the TESCO Pod Point one is currently for the first 15 minutes) The Etal Village Hall is free, but asks for a voluntary donation at the Lavender Tea Rooms.

Meanwhile Genie Point have just entered the category of "ridiculous rip-off never use" at 98 p per kWh. Used to occasionally use their chargers at Morrisons.

Provided you're not blocking someone else's access Neil you can keep plugging and unplugging the 'free fifteen' on the Tesco Pod-Point chargers until you're fully topped up. :-D . I usually spend a half hour doing the shopping and pop out to unplug re-plug after fifteen minutes. Tight fisted me?

Electric Viking Sam likes his Armageddon headlines, its the way of the youtube channel, but I do find his channel is excellent for being "bang" up to date on the latest developments. He is particularly productive, maybe too productive with 4 or more new videos a day. Haven't watched that one yet Marc, but I expect he will give it a fair treatment, and the vid will be less dramatic than the title :-D ...

...and it was :-D
