Your tidy place puts me to shame.
My place here in France has about 400M2 of storage spread over 4 buildings & each one is
a total mess with stuff everywhere. It's sort of; 'Tractor & things agricultural' in the old boules alley. Ladders, scaffolding ,timber & such like in another with bench saw & welding bench. Dozens of half full paint cans & hand tools in another & 2 cars, motorbike, lawn tractor, lawn sweeper, log splitters, branch chipper, self propelled flail weed whacker, umpteen strimmers & chain saws, self propelled garden digger thing, trailer, etc, etc, a huge round of hay & other feeds for horses plus my work bench in the main barn attached to house & stables. Probably much more 'stuff' than I've mentioned but me brains falling out trying to remember what I've got.
It's true when they say "Extra space lets people keep things they do not need & Buying new things feels simple when storage is not an issue." At least 4 recent trips to the tip with the old Pug 806 stuffed full hasn't put the slightest dent in it.
I've never been a tidy person & when in business my desk had what I called "tidy piles" of paperwork which only I knew what was in 'em. Worked for me mind you & my secretary knew better than to touch it.
We moved to France 23 years ago with one car & a lorry load of furniture & tools so most of the above has been collected since then.
Dog knows what I'll do if we ever decide to move.

Sorry about that Vic, the reality is that when you only have one garage and SWMBO puts her car in it overnight, you have very little space to play with. Hence it has to be tidy in order to get everything in and know where to find it. :-D

It has always been my car in the garage to keep it clean and so it does not become the shopping trolley and taxi for children.

Ah no, you've labelled them wrong - they are what is known as "Items of latent usefulness" :-D

Great replies chaps.
Makes me feel slightly better being surrounded by 'stuff'
Have to say though that's it's rare I can't find something to bodge/repair a problem be it plumbing, electrics, decorating, carpentry, roofing etc.
It's like living in my own DIY store.

Buying tools is easy, my little workshop is just over 5ft x 8ft (+ garage) so space is valuable.
I would like to submit two photos, mk1 & mk2 of my little dust extractor, Dyson motor, 2nd cyclone and filter post motor, with main cyclone from Ebay.
It sits nicely under my bench in a 180mm wide slot .

Oh, I make sawdust in my workshop......well that's what it seems, as nothing else comes out!

SWMBO complained that the water from the tank was flowing too slowly. Taking 5 mins to fill the can. So I added a new drainage hole which also ensures all the water drains. She's happy now! :-D

Another little household squabble solved!! SWMBO likes having the back door open when she is in the kitchen. I don't like having the door open because we get flies into the house! So I have just installed the solution to keep us both happy!! :-D

I don't like the door open either, inherited this partly from my wife who was petrified by the thought of cats getting in, she hated the little buggers and I am the same although not scared of them.
But last week the door was open and one of the 'orrible pigeons that live under the solar panels flew in, scattering objects and feathers all over the place. Wife would have had a coronary as she hated and was scared of birds more than she was of cats.

A house near us has installed a mesh around the edges of their solar panels to keep the pigeons out.

As have many around here, which is one of the reasons that the damned things have migrated to my roof. I will have to get someone out to do it; One day.
The garden and patio are covered with pigeon crap and it sometimes sounds as though they are dragging the tiles around.
