Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Actually one from yesterday, only just downloaded the camera.
Most were crap as the camera insisted on firing the flash.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
THis thread has had some tremendous posts over the years, full of interest. This morning I read that Torness Nuclear Power Station near Dunbar East Lothian was to be closed in 2028, and I felt sure that somewhere down the line I would have taken a photo of it and posted it up. As it turns out I hadn't but I started reading on from the posts selected which included Torness, and yes stumbled across Powerstation day on POTD, and read on through Military Toilets day etc etc. Quality stuff sitting idle in the old pages of the thread.
So to correct the absence of Torness photo's I'll dig one up from Geograph.org.uk ( http://www.geograph.org.uk/ ) probably the best source of images all under creative commons licence contributed by the general public tagged to every 1km square in the UK.
Regards Neil

It is unusual to have the full papers when buying a used car, so I will leave this here.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Looked out the window this morning to be depressed by my two filthy dirty cars, so I have spent the day sorting that out
Now it appears I have some paintwork to attend to on the MX3 which I couldn't see before
A job for another day as I am off to the seaside tomorrow!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Nice atmospheric shot of a watery sun trying to pierce the low lying fog.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Went to get my car to fill it up (horrified to find it has only done 222 miles since last fill up and has managed an impressive 23 mpg.)!
Walked past the house of many lights and the lad was there packing up the Santa - struggling to put it in its box as it was frozen. Car very frozen too.
No photo as left phone at home.

Geograph's image of the day today is Budle Bay in North Northumberland. Nice enough, interesting horizontal zoning but not a striking image.

Some of Ian Capper's other contributions popped up in related images to the side with some really striking images in the collection like this one just a touch further down the coast.
Here, comes the sun, sunrise at Bamburgh, good morning FCF
regards Neil

Did you fly to the location perhaps or are we looking at comfortable driving distance with the closest being Essex, possibly Kent, less likely Suffolk.

I drove, the seagulls are significant and here is another clue if I tell you I took it at lunchtime

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
The church doesn't seem to have a great geograph, flickr, or Essex Churches presence so the photograph you have taken may well be the only one posted up on the world wide web.
If there isn't a hidden clue in your seascape with the sun in the South, ie Southend, or an unenjoyable drive down to SouthSea nr Portsmouth, then I would still go for Essex as being the most likely.
The only clue and if you positioned yourself right, you could well reproduce your sea/sun scape looking South at
Brightlingsea.
Best I can do so far.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
You might get a seascape like that 'round Hastings and Eastwards, but that really is clutching at straws. The church looks like it should be somewhere near Peacehaven or Newhaven.
More clues needed.
