Last evening I ran a 10K race around one of my favourite places... Salcey Forest, halfway between Paggers and Northampton. There's something very special about running on a dark and stormy night in pouring rain with great company and getting very muddy with our way lit only by our head torches in dense woodland on muddy trails
Me, cold, wet, muddy, happy and smiling at the end... And that was after spending all day in the Forest from first light helping out at a big ultra marathon event... We erected five large gazebos in torrential rain!
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but I loved it... I had a lot of washing to do this morning!
In the New Year I'll be back in the forest running the second and third in the series of these 10K night races and then in March I'll be running an ultra marathon (50K) there
Before that, in a couple of weeks I'll be in the forest again to run a Christmas 10K race...
