It'll be great to see you Mike
I'm never keen on holding on to things that don't belong to me in case anything happens to them whilst in my custody.

Re: Meeting arrangements
So same rules apply Mick, no Jap cars. So are you and Jim going to turn up on a tandem?

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

Jim, I drive past that establishment everyday and i've never noticed the different entrances, I guess you've been up and had a closer look
Although if we add your previous statement things become a little clearer...

Re: Meeting arrangements
This post is picked up from the Peugeot forum where I made a comment that was not understood by the intended recipient.
I realise that I could send a private message, but at this stage of my FCF journey, I don’t know how widespread these are used. I don’t want to risk it not being seen by the person who needs to see it. So, please pardon my interruption to this general thread.
If you want to take it seriously, I am not going to object (unless I’m putting my life at risk!).
If you want to bail, then I won’t be in the slightest bit offended.
It is totally up to you. Please understand that.
I have not responded until now because I have been trying to figure out what you actually meant - serious or not serious. I still haven’t decided what I think about that, but it’s getting too late for me to worry about what you intended.

I have to admit that I was (half-)joking when I made the comment about picking me up from Heathrow Terminal 4 on Friday next week. And I certainly didn’t expect you to take it seriously. Even now, I’m still not sure if your response is a serious one or not.

Re: Meeting arrangements
It all depends on where you need to get to once off the plane. It's always good to meet members and more so if they are visiting the UK but it does depend on whether it would be helpful or a hindrance, and to some extent on the time of arrival!!ozfrog wrote: 28 Jul 2025, 11:48

It all depends on where you need to get to once off the plane.
But the journey is up for negotiation.
- If I’m being picked up in any Japanese car, then the direct route is fine.
- If I’m being picked up in a Renault or Peugeot, then a slightly longer route would be appropriate.
- If I’m being picked up in a Renault or Peugeot model that we don’t get in Australia, then an additional route, via some interesting local scenery would be appreciated.
- If I’m being picked up in a Citroën, a short drive in the countryside would be lovely.
- If I’m being picked up in a Citroën equipped with Hydropneumatic suspension, travelling via Wales, Scotland, and any other places on the mainland would be perfect. As long as I’m back at my destination by Saturday evening.
- If I’m being picked up in any of the German manufacturers vehicles, then don’t bother. I’ll make my own way to my destination!
but it does depend on whether it would be helpful or a hindrance
Helpful or hindrance to you or to me?
I’m not used to that kind of qualification. Sydney Airport has curfew hours and generally, there are no aircraft movements at the airport between 2300 hours and 0600 hours (from memory).and to some extent on the time of arrival!!![]()
It’s a flight! There are no guarantees. These things are even worse than trains! And yes, I am well aware of my audience and their country. Believe me, those iron horses are just as unreliable in the colonies as they are in the motherland.
That said, the scheduled arrival time is 0625 hours. Flight number QR 11
Over to you now
Cheers,
Andrew

Re: Meeting arrangements
Ok, Flight arrival of 06.25 means you should get through between 07.30 and 08.00 or equivalent delay if flight is delayed but I can track it on flight tracker and adjust accordingly.
Worst time there is to travel by car into The Highbury Centre as it means eastbound on the A40 then through the congestion zone which my car does not go free and then stuck in morning commuter traffic. So if you are not time limited it might be better to head out and through west and north west London, grabbing some breakfast and then down to Highbury once the rush hour has expired. I couldn't promise any countryside but you would see some trees and parkland along the way.
Have you been to the UK before and are you travelling alone?
My help or hindrance comment was to you as it won't be a hindrance to me at all!
Oh and PM me your name and number for meeting at T4 arrivals.
