The Chrysanths flourish on into the first frosts:
Meanwhile the Dahlias have finished their business:
and been dried, dusted and packed away in vermiculite for their winter storage in the garage:

What insidious device has Tony got under his thumb, and was this the first appearance of such things in 1973? The PE Video show will tell you... viewtopic.php?p=701797#p701797

Every picture deserves a bit of trivia.
Wolfgang Amadeus also had a starling family but not as big as yours

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
All fired up to take photo of a painted lady on bushes outside my daughter's.
New phone. Took so long to turn the camera on that the butterfly had flown.
Then I couldn't turn it off
Bought it last Saturday and it has taken nearly a week to make it work at all.
Damned thing shouts "Hello Moto" at me at around 01:00.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Cavalry called tonight in the shape of Northern Powergrid, and they turned up and saved the day. The distinctive smell of overheating bakelite pervading the house and the ancient service head fuse case too hot to touch. Switched most power items off but the service fuse did pop and it was back to candles for an hour or so.
Top service from the lads that came out and sorted it out with a new service head and fuse.
Regards Neil
