Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Darren, a few weeks ago I thought I had a squeaking belt as I pulled away, I did all the belt checks and couldn't find it. Then I read a tip on a different forum concerning power steering hoses and their O rings going hard over time and leaking by allowing air into the system when the pump is pumping hard. It bleeds out again so doesn't really affect the steering but it does squeak when its sucking the air in. I replaced my hose and its O rings and I haven't had a peep since. Just a thought!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Arrow in between, after the tensioning process is complete: From memory that seems correct. Does the "twist the belt on longest side" test feel ok?
Have you tried running it without the aux belt in place? That'd at least definitely rule anything on that loop out.

Thanks Mick I will have a look at the pipework but everything should be fine they looked not too bad a few months ago and I replenished the seals only last year along with the rack.
I never thought of that Matt I might give it a go tomorrow see if it removes the squeal..

Never got a chance to do anything more with it. Puncture repaired during the week is still leaking, need to take it off in the morning and bring it up to the road to a different garage. The one I used uses plug type repair so no good.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Hi all good news and bad news. The C5 passed the NCT with flying colours no advisories
. However the clutch hydraulics failed on the way home. It's now sitting at the side of the road about 20 miles away
. So the rollercoaster of ownership of french cars continues it's leaking where the pipe goes into the slave cylinder and pops off when pressure builds up.i don't know what to do with it. I have a slave cylinder for it but I'm not sure if it is the cylinder or the pipe

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Thanks Matt. Finally have it road legal so happy bunny. I do however have a charging issue with the alternator so I will need to get it refurbished. I have a guy locally I use who is very good and reasonable. I'll get out for less than a ton.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
Thanks all. Yes that's it a few bits but given the history of it I can't say I'm surprised but I think I am on to a winner now. I'll keep you posted. I have it ready to go for rebuild tomorrow.

Re: Injectors misbehaving but trying to understand the numbers
I brought the alternator in and it was refurbished in 3 hours. Fitted it yesterday evening so I now have it completely finished. Thanks to everyone for your help and encouragement.
