I echo James' thoughts there Jim. I completely understand your current situation and agree that 'KISS' is your way forward. I hope to get a chance to call by for a cuppa after next week's relaxation of the rules. Stay safe!!

James put it well, same from me.
Your 15 minute post Jim was your post number 44,008. So here is a celebratory pic!

Re: Citrojim's AX, Saxo, Pixo, Running and Cycling Tales
Gosh, it's over a year since I've updated this
Happy to report today Sally passed her n'th MoT in my ownership with flying colours and a clean sheet
I shall now treat her to new tyres and fix a minor oil leak (more a weep really) from her cambelt-side crank seal.
Her passing her MoT has scuppered plans I had to treat myself to a nice new car
No way is she going anywhere. MoT tester was very complementary of her. She's a keeper
Here she is, outside the MoT station and in a very iconic location
There may soon be a change of car in my stable. I'm saying no more at this time but watch this space
I will be paying two brief visits to the Chevrons Rally this weekend in Daffodil. My visits will be squashed in between parkrun on Saturday and a Half Marathon run on Sunday!
Looking forward to all of it

Re: Citrojim's AX, Saxo, Pixo, Running and Cycling Tales
Daffodil, my much loved white AX, will soon be leaving me...
She's moving to pastures not so new to her so that Bluebell, her elder sister, can join me...
Bluebell is a Series 1 AX11TZX and very similar to a blue AX I had in the early 90s - the one that made me fall hopelessly in love with them
I'm getting really excited
I'll be seeing her properly in the metal on Wednesday and getting the spanners out... Currently she's a non-runner...

CitroJim a very nice swap - I'd love a Mk II GTi but would settle for a 3-dr 1.4i Forte if you hear of one looking for a new home

Re: Citrojim's AX, Saxo, Pixo, Running and Cycling Tales
I don't know if you saw Jim but I do have an AX drivers manual wallet up for grabs. I also have a crate of stuff that I will be dropping off to Zel in a couple of weeks after I get back from my road trip to Spain, leaving tomorrow morning, so I could drop the books into you at the same time if you want them!

Oh yes please Mick, that'll be magical and I'll finally get to meet youmickthemaverick wrote: 12 Sep 2022, 16:27 I don't know if you saw Jim but I do have an AX drivers manual wallet up for grabs.
She's had a good wash today... Snofoamed...
And scrubbed up very well indeed... She is in remarkably tidy condition and amazingly rust-free...
Just look at the shine on the bonnet! Not bad for a 32 year old French biscuit tin...

She certainly looks a cracker there Jim, a good wash can make such a difference. I'll PM you and Zel about a suitable date to come up to MK when I get back from Spain!!

She is Matte as a brick Jim.....the reason she has a shine on is that the car is wet.. !!!
That said, give me a couple of days with the polishing machine and we can look again
The Activa is on guard !
Soon....she will be back....for the FOURTH time
