it does seem the fluid will have gone somewhere but theres no telling when it was filled last, im not sure of the capacity but it took a full litre. At least if they spot it leaking then they should point it out to me and I can grab the bits I need off a complete 2002 SX with just 76k on it I found in the scrappy today i dunno whether to go back and grab the suspension orbs just because I may need em in future and they seem to be about £90 a pair, I gave them a quick once over earlier and they looked nearly new

the one advisory was one of the rear suspension bags "not deflating fully"

Re: C5 electrical issues (poss bcm?)
Mine had a slow weep from somewhere round the steering rack and both the front struts gather some oil mist over time but I am led to believe that's normal. Passed the MOT like it though.

Re: C5 electrical issues (poss bcm?)
If you think about it, how many cars can go 15-16 years on the original set of coil springs / shocks? It's very likely that the spheres / struts on your C5 may well be the originals. On the C5s, Citroen guaranteed the hydractive suspension system to be maintenance free for about 200,000 Km / 5 years. So if it is the spheres, they've probably done their bit. Shop about, but I wouldn't recommend second hand as you don't know if they will be any better. The Sphere shop:
http://www.sphere-shop.co.uk/hydractive-3-1002-c.asp
sell a pair for your car model for £114 new - front or rear and they should be replaced in pairs (both front / both back) if they are aged. If it's the steering rack - you would probably be able to see the oil leaking around the union. Anyway fingers crossed!
