The last R4 I had was a LHD van, I was selling a near new Austin 1300 to a chap, he'd arrived in the van but hadn't suggested he wanted to px it.

Deal done on the 1300, as he walked away he turned and said "Will you give me a tenner for the van to save me taking it home?"

I gave him his tenner and sold it later same day for £65 to a cow girl from a local farm, she used it for a few years until the floor fell out then sold it on to a guy who was a 'fixer upper' for £50.

I did a training run for LEJOG today...

You continue to amaze me Jim, but I have to say that route looks like a contestant to rival the Nurburgring (the original one) so purely for curiosity did you run clockwise or anti-clockwise around it?

Now you say, it does look a bit Nurburgring'ish

Some runners specialise in drawing 'pictures' with their runs and it's termed 'Strava Art' Some are very creative...

From the gap in the top right, I ran anti-clockwise Mick... I seem happier running anti-clockwise for reasons I don't understand...

Yep...I spent the best part of an afternoon fighting with one on the Invacar before thinking to see how much new wheel cylinders were. £14 for proper Girling ones...suffice to say the battle ceased at that point!

At that price, I concur! Just checked the price and availability of AX calipers and I'm looking at the thick end of £50 each so at that price it's worth doing all I can to save them...

Randomly woke up at about 2AM and completely failed to get back to sleep. So running on about two hour's sleep over the last three days at this point. Fun.

That's right in the awkward sort of price bracket in my head...It's expensive enough to not want to just change them for the sake of simplicity...but just cheap enough that I'd seriously find myself lacking in enthusiasm for having a royal fight with it. In my case that would usually end up with me procrastinating about the job for about six months, then having it go absolutely smoothly when I take it on eventually and me cursing myself for weeks afterwards.

Some of my friends think I have sleep problems but it's not so. My day is just time-shifted...

My day now starts at about 03:15. My body clock just won't adjust when the clocks go back or forward...

Living a time-shifted day has its advantages. I can go to Tesco when it's virtually deserted and well stocked at 0600 and run when it's all quiet and peaceful...

I find being out in the dark with the world lit only by street-lights quite magical This morning most of my run was in the dark and everything looked lovely despite the rain... It was only as dawn broke I could see what a horrid, grey and miserable day lay in store

Sometimes I think I've got nocturnal tendencies

Last Thursday I was busy jump starting Robyn's C1...

Her battery seems to be fine and I know that is so as today I had to jump start Greg's (son in law) Audi A3

I was relying on the fact that at least if her battery was weak she could always jump start her C1 from Greg's car...

Greg works from home and has been since March, consequently his car has not moved in weeks...

Lesson learned... Modern cars full of electronics soon drain their batteries if not used... He's instructed to take it for a decent outing at least once a week now...

Redway Runners is one of the largest running clubs in the country but remains very friendly and welcoming to runners of all abilities...

I christened it by running a half marathon in Salcey Forest today

This was my 9th half marathon in 9 consecutive weekends and day 68 of my run streak... I've now run every day, often in excess of 10Km (6miles) on most days, for 68 days and I'm rapidly approaching my personal best streak of 80 days - that one ended in hospital!

It's been a good week for running and cycling... Strava tells me I've run 54 miles so far this week and 1550 for the year to date...

All my cycling so far this week has been virtual and adds up to 110 miles taking me to 6555 miles for the year to date of which 2250 of those have been ridden on the Zwift virtual platform

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get out for a proper road ride... The weather looks favourable...

I've serviced the bikes today, one in readiness for the planned road ride and the other that now lives semi-permanently on the turbo trainer because it works so hard... Turbo riding is not kind to a bike especially when fighting the lumpy bits of Yorkshire around Harrogate pretending you're riding the UCI World Championship
