As a boy all most of my homemade bows were made out of ash, with baler twine for a bow-string. :-D

You can still buy an ash bow today £135 for this

Make the most of your excellent memory Neil, which is one thing I am beginning to find harder to use. Things that used to come straight to mind frequently take me minutes to remember now and I find that very frustrating. Sometimes I start writing and forget a salient detail and end up having to think far too hard to remember it. I am able to recall almost everything given enough time but it is the apparent slowing down of my brain's processing speed that frustrates me endlessly!! :(

Wrong again as usual.
Should check before I make TOH statements.

I wanted to buy a bow for one of my granddaughters a few years back. She was very much into martial arts and very good at it. I was forbidden as she might have been a bit too enthusiastic about it.
She is 16 in a couple of weeks and very tall, red haired and athletic. Would have looked great with a longbow.

No idea. May have been recycled several times, this time might be the last until cremation. Though in truth, it will most likely end up in the spare room for the rest of my life. After that? Some of our shop window displays have ended up in schools. Never received payment for creating them, and were donated FOC.

King Edward VI has ended up in the Guildhall Museum.

Just seen this on my way home from dropping the car at my son's.
Not pretty, probably due to the council spraying weedkiller all over the place.

Sometime over the past 2 days the Off Topic Chat Lounge Recorded its 100,000th post.

Worth some sort of pictorial fanfare or celebration for the combined efforts of FCF members past and present to entertain, educate and amuse :?:

Here's the bare facts

This is going to be a random selection of an OTCL topic contributing to the 100,000 recorded posts.
Then a random selection of a random page from that topic
Then a random selection of a post

After that of course a contrived attempt to extract some "meaning" from the random Selection.

So using https://www.random.org/

Pages 1 to 92.........Selected 85 (oh no its going to be a really old one!)
Topic 1-50..............Selected 37 (Topic title Attn. of administrator, Jon etc.)
Post 1-3..................Selected Post 1

and here it is in all its glory

...and the moral of the random selection, the success of the Forum, and its smooth running depends a great deal on some dedicated work of some very skilled people who sort problems out, and provide the rest of us with the opportunity to enjoy using the forum, and connecting with others.

We all have a tremendous platform provided for us, use it and enjoy it to the full. My take on it is if you can join in please do.

As the selection was a bit wordy here's a pic of one of the topics I continue to enjoy.
