Are you going to do the whole engine Alasdair?

That would look really special!

Only the visible parts Jim.................... I'm not nuts :)

The intake and the rocker cover were the colour of the cylinder heads when I started !
It is quite a good alloy (except for a lot of slag in the casting) to knock the grain off and polish, it will be interesting to see how it holds up with the wax coating I gave it.

(Note, rocker cover has not had its final polish when this was taken)

The heads/plug/coils etc is about the only part I have not cleaned yet Jim, and as I am planning a plug check/change then I thought I might as well get these ready to put on after I have done that work.

Are dealers the best place for new gaskets ?

Looking awesome Alasdair. Are you going stainless on the exhaust system to get better flow on the outlet

That is looking gobsmackingly awesome, Alisdair. If you are not careful, you will get the whole Activa looking like that, and then not want to drive her, for fear of spoiling all the hard work. However, she will also then go like sh1t off a shovel, she will be that smooth (mechanically and aerodynamically)!

Yes, I'd have thought so... Not sure what's available on the aftermarket to be honest..

If you are going to all that trouble, why not radius the valves; according to Phil Irving it's the equivalent of fitting larger as far as gass flow is concerned. It certainly works in my limited experience

I am not planning to take off the heads Harry, I would wish to get the exhaust manifolds done in S.Steel first as I think that is one of the biggest restrictions on this engine.
That said, I can understand the need based on the exhaust and induction manifold finishes which are as rough as a Witches What-Not inside.
IF I can get that done then I will consider it as I would want to change the cam belt to be sure with the extra Hp

There is a slight problem with that. As far as I know, concours means showroom condition. Unfortunately the French did not give us the V6 option (so no showroom there), and the way Alasdair is going that Activa is going to put showrooms to shame!

A French showroom had this one, so it is original and thus would be judged as I would think ?.

But it is NOT going to happen as I enjoy the car to much, put it this way the A303/A30 (via Stockbridge) was clear of cars tonight and I enjoyed it to much :) on the way home from the French Car meet at The ACE Cafe.

I know that bit of road like the back of my hand Alasdair.... I find that section the longest and most tediously boring part of the whole A303 and that's saying something as all of it is boring and tedious...
