Well I had a last run out in the Activa today.

Up early in the cold sunshine and drove to Derby to pick up two brand new Active Rams (score !), two new front struts, another V6 pump, a pair of HA regulators, two brand new electro-valves and a badge-less nose cone. These being the summers ebay scores from sources "up-narth".

Drive was really good, the car was perfect and did not miss a beat, also managed to stuff a few argumentative OOOO's and a BWM or two :)
It seems to ride better each time I take it out.
Final wash tomorrow ready for a tax-less winters sleep as I saw the signal today, three salt/gritter trucks

Excellent Alasdair... Mine will remain usable over winter but will venture out only on dry salt-free days. Next time I visit you it's likely I'll be in the C1...

I'll be SORN'ing mine before the end of the week as well. There was a load of grit spread up here last night so that's them all off the road now. As I use mine sparingly the suspension on mine improves with every mile covered as well.

I did a 220 mile trip in it last weekend and by the end of the run it was like a different car from the one I left home in!

As with Davids comment, much much better after 150 miles (ish), but yes the C5 gets to live in the cold, maybe this year I will be able to use the "SnowControl|"
BUT (If)(when) it snows its the Kia
It is so light that it sits on top of the snow and goes like a Terrier :)

Started to strip the spare engine today to get parts cleaned and coated/polished to be ready to apply to mine later in the winter.

Changed the front pads on the C5 as well, all went well, no problems and no corrosion evident.
I do however seem to have a "creak" after heavy braking, (as the car relaxes again), it has happened a couple of times now so I have ears tuned.

Why don't I trust this car ? I still can't put my finger on it :)

Simple, it's blotted its copy-book a few times hasn't it... I never quite again trust any car that's let me down...

The dirty tubes all take their air from the lower part of the plenum, so probably pick up more oil from the crankcase ventilation.
