Ours have yet to be done Were scheduled for March 27th and then brought forward to September.
The one up the street is still on 24/7.

You'll miss their comforting yellow glow when they do eventually go Steve... LED are technically excellent but they loose out on warmth and atmosphere. The light from LED units can be a bit harsh and glaring..myglaren wrote: 10 Dec 2020, 09:10 Ours have yet to be done Were scheduled for March 27th and then brought forward to September.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Indeed
We do have LEDs but they left the Sodium lights, just turned most of them off, except the one over the road and the one on my house - which was turned off when the house was rewired, there was a fault on it apparently, apart from it being permanently on.
Hardly needed any lights on that side of the house.

I am going to elevate this to the heady heights of POTD.
I have only seen one of these and this is it. Does appear a little too rusty to me. First time its seen the light of day for 17 years.
Regards Neil

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I don't think they did one for my first car, it was a '39 Ford Prefect. I thought it was brilliant at the time - until I drove the Hillman. The things it had that the ford didn't were: independent coil spring front suspension, hydraulic brakes, a four speed box (column change) and a heater.
Also windscreen wipers that didn't stop when you went up a hill - still had a side valve engine though but a lot better than the Ford one.

The features they advertised for my Morris 1000 were "Floor mounted washer button, heater and one piece windscreen" Oh for a split screen!!
