I have lots of happy memories of doing that on bikes and cars Pete :)

I once did it often enough on XU/XUD engines I created a little Excel spreadsheet to calculate the shim thicknesses...

Right boys,
Just got a Ring from the mashine shop, he cant get oversized swirl chambers, so im contemplating a new head or finding oversized ones seperatly and give him them.
New heads start go for around 200€ so im thinking about that.
Anyone knows who still sells swirl chambers reasonable prised?

Ok.
Ordered a new cylinderhead because it was cheaper and easyer than redoing my old one. I would of liked to keep all parts concerning the engine original peugeot but here we go, the old head will look nice on my bedroom shelf.
Just ordering new bolts and gaskets.
Shall I order the same amount of notches or thickness as stock headgasket or bother getting a dial gauge and measure piston protrusion?
I'm tempted to just go stock, I maybe planning on fiddling with the boost a slight bit in the future so a little less compression shouldn't harm.

Right bois,
Im on the home stretch. Lapped in new valves on the new head, bought a 13mm shim set and set all the valve clearances. A long night I will member.
Fitted the head with the thickest head gasket and new bolts.mounted the turbo and inlet manifold. A job I won't forget either.... :)
Didn't manage to get to fit the cam belt today.
New water pump is fitted though.
I'm very very not looking forward to fitting the idler wheel tensioner and engine mount but I won't rember all the s**t Jobs when she's purring again.
s**t weather ATM in Germany, working underneath a little pavilion in front of the 405 to keep me dry while wrenching haha.
I'll video the first start up and keep you updated.

Ill let the Video do the talking.
Eyes of relieve, spent all week on putting it back together and she's back.
I've still got to finish it all up and put a set of mi16 15" wheels on it, i bought them while the head was of 😂.
I'll take it for a drive tomorrow.

Really love the New rims, if anyone noticed the cardboard underneath, I still got to replace the valve cover breather hose.
Can you tell me how I disconnect the oil filler tube ?

There should be a clip right underneath just where it joins the block and then it should just pull up and away... be careful as after all this time it may be a bit brittle and fragile...
