Over the pond now and here we go with the do you believe in ghosts post.

"Devil's circle" most often refers to the Devil's Tramping Ground, a circular, barren patch of earth in Chatham County, North Carolina, where legend says the Devil walks each night.

Caterham bypass ghost, ive myself gone to this location , dark wet cold night and nothing happened, but a few reports have claimed to see a figure of a young woman standing at the side of the road. Who is she ? People belive shes looking for her loved on who lived at a near by farm which whe she used to vist him she had to cross the bypass carriageways, she got hit by a vehicle and was killed out right. Think chaps theory's are rather interesting
must not for get to mention the local police arrest a man dressed as a woman , it used to knock on the lorry drivers doors for business. Not no more now it was given an order for a mental health assessment by a judge.

Another story goes a young maiden in love with a local farm boy was hit by horse and cart when she crossed the old road which is now the bypass, legend has it she still roams the same route her ghostly figure seen by many people over the years , she is still looking for her loved one or is she lost

I am not sure what I think about ghosts. I think it is possible that, many years ago, people were not facing so many distractions and so may have been more observant of the world around them. Nowadays with so much in the way of gadgetry to distract us people are not seeing so much of the wonders of the world around them.

Military now
Major Peter Labelliere
Near to Box Hill Fort is the grave of Dorking eccentric Major Peter Labelliere (1726-1800). He left instructions that on his death he was to be buried upside down on Box Hill, claiming that the world was topsy-turvy and he wanted to be right in the end. Not to forget the silent pool

isle of wight, a personal experience

Myself & my wife stayed at a lovely place called foxhills on the isle of wight, it was a new venture for a whole family that had moved from the west of the country and all took early retirement to all as a family run the place , and I must say it was run like clock work the whole stay was amazing, but here's the thing that happend to with me and the wife. The first night was all quiet how ever the second night was something else. I was laying in the dark facing a wall which housed a small sink then all of a sudden this shadow shape floated from my left to my right and stopping where the sink was so the sink was going throug it. It was the height of a small child , a girl , I was getting that this object was a girl about 7, I rubbed my eyes and it was gone , I waited in the dark the room was poorly lit by a street lamp some way off down the road and I was wondering if what id seen was shadow play from a passing car,,this was dis proved when a car did finally drive by and nothing no shadow play at all, my heart was pounding it was almost as if the whole room was filled by it , plus I was starting to feel rather hot so decided to get out of bed to open the window a bit more , I then went to the loo, as it was ensuite, to which the light from the bathroom lit up the bedroom and I saw my wifes legs sticking up in the air and she was fast asleep this I will admit s**t the stuff out of me, her legs were being shook about rather regoirisly, all of a sudden she woke and shouted what you doing let go , she then realized i was about 18 feet away from her , so I put the light on in the room and the atmosphere changed, she got out of bed and made us both a drink it was about 3.20am. We drank out drinks and I told her what id seen and she said she had this dream children were pulling her legs ! Anyway we did drop back off to sleep till we were woken at 5am by a man shouting out get away get off me folled by a loud thud, not long after everything settled down and we fell back to sleep, here's where it gets interesting at breakfast another couple sat behind us and I heard the gentleman say to his wife he saw this black figure coming towards him he shouted at it it kept getting closer he throw a punch and fell out of bed... I was in shock I did see something in our room and hearing that and seeing this other couple for the first time confirmed to me that the place was haunted. Here's another haunted hotel
