Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Why not put new brushes... 50 Amps fuse blowing! - nice short this must be

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Maybe I should clarify what happened !
Replaced fuse and refitted battery, added LDS fluid to level mark, started engine, pump is running pressurised system and no lift. You can hear pump running after ignition off then switching off through relay.
Tried several times changed from low to high nothing, eventually fuse blew (causing additional current supply blowing fuse).
Hence thinking of brushes near to the end of life.
Does hydraulic strut need priming or worth doing due to large air pocket within.
Any further thoughts.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Aha, so it works for some time, and then blows. I had this, but with smaller fuse 5A, the cirquit was working for a while and then blew. So, it could be from overloading, and not from a short. In my case I fitted 7,5 A, and the cirquit is working ever since, but with 50 Amps rated fuse I would pass the exercise

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
I have been thinking about my problem and I'm wondering if this could be caused by a massive air lock between pump and front N/S hydraulic strut. resulting in the pump unable to release airlock and therefore supply strut. Outcome blown fuse due to overheating.
My proposal is to remove supply pipe and top the strut up with LDS fluid.
Any thoughts please, on a post card to.................................

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
I can’t see how Kenny, the complete depressurisation procedure using the diagnostic tool will evacuate just about all the oil in the system and is used when replacing pipes, spheres, struts, rack and so forth.
Following that and the depressurising and bleeding procedure should resolve any air in the system.
If you can get the pump working, leave the car on the lowest height with LDS cap off and then turn the steering wheel lock to lock slowly for 10 turns and don’t hold it at either lock. Then check fluid level and top up if necessary. This should evacuate any locks in the circuit.

Thanks Marc, I don't think the fluid level is correct, about litre too low. I'll be looking at poss Friday afternoon but more likely Saturday weather forecast crap until then.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Today, between snow showers I checked all the fuses for continuity all fine including 40amp strip fuse.
Battery off for a charge since it's been sitting idle for a wee while.
Checked strut and no fluid at all in it so put some in.
Looking to check relay, here is my idea, on a bench supply 12 v to through 1 and earth 2, supply 12v to 3 to relay and activating switch and reading from 5.
I am NOT a sparky so any thoughts please.

Just a random thought - You haven't undone any of the manual depressurisation points at any point, have you ? Are they all done up again ?

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
No, used the diagbox.
Okay today, I checked the relay and this operating correctly. Check wiring to pump and it was loose, refitted same and tried to raise suspension nothing.
Repressuised system and then the engine cut out!!!!!!!! plenty fuel in tank.
Buzzing from fuse box in engine bay refusing to switch off so disconnected battery.
Checked for faults,
1 at BSI F5FF,
14 faults against injection/ignition
P0243, P1471, P2425, P0245, P2141, P1166, P1443, P0003, P2295, P2426, P0131, P0130, P1403, P1402 What on earth is going on here.
No problems with car until speed sensor went replaced same and it appeared fine. But thereafter height corrector fault followed by hydraulic strut leaking.
Question does the new speed sensor required to be match to car by Diagbox ?
Suspension faults
U1118 X2, U2118, U2005
Does this mean I do have a wiring issue with Hydraulic ECU ?
Heating Ventilation faults
F72F, F714, F70A, F70B
Any thoughts please,
Otherwise I can see the end of this Citroen's life.
Having mulled things over could this be caused by incorrect battery fitting procedure ?
Kenny

Where did all these fault codes come from ..........
Hi All,
Whilst trying to get the suspension working, running at idle the engine cut out !
It had been running no problem for about 5 minutes.
Put on Diagbox and had 14 fault codes for the ignition and injection
They are listed on this thread viewtopic.php?t=66453
Could this be caused by NOT following the battery reset procedure /

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
P0243 Turbocharger actuator control : Excessive temperature or open circuit
P1471 Air mixer control : Open circuit
P2425 Control of the EGR exchanger bypass : Open circuit
P0245 Turbocharger actuator control : Short circuit to earth
P2141 Air mixer control : Short circuit to earth
P1166 Fuel system : Maximum rail pressure exceeded
P1443 Wired additive pump : Short circuit to earth
P0003 Fuel flow regulator : Short circuit to earth
P2295 Fuel flow regulator : Measuring the low threshold current IMV
P2426 Control of the EGR exchanger bypass : Short circuit to earth
P0131 Oxygen sensor : Short circuit to earth
P1403 1 additional heating : Electrical faults : Open circuit, short circuit to positive, short circuit to earth
Most of these relate to electrical harness issues - there's too many to all of happened at once, so I suspect it is related to work you've recently done - probably connections / connectors / fuse box etc. So time to retrace your steps Kenny and check all the connections.
Always best to disconnect battery before unplugging connectors or doing any electrical work as it can have unwanted results.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
I would also have a spray can of a decent contact cleaner to hand, so you can clean each connection as you check them. Some dirt in the wrong place can cause all sorts of mayhem. I use Servisol, which can work well (but also has a lubricant added to switches, and this may cause issues to some connections).

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
With respect, I really don't think a can of Servisol is going to cut it. There is a significant communication breakdown here with the engine ECU or communication from / to it.

Assuming that you had the engine running at the time then a bit of your previous post may be where you need to look again
"Okay today, I checked the relay and this operating correctly. Check wiring to pump and it was loose, refitted same and tried to raise suspension nothing.
Repressuised system and then the engine cut out!!!!!!!! plenty fuel in tank.
Buzzing from fuse box in engine bay refusing to switch off so disconnected battery."

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Thanks all,
I'm going to look at the fuse box and check the connections are snug fit. Also will check +ve and -ve battery terminals as they have been moved a lot.
I also found a wire running under the fusebox with a in line fuse fitted so it looks somebody has been here before.
It's strange how most the faults say open circuit to earth.
With regards to the suspension, I think the electric motor is running but the hydraulic side may not be working but why ?
It's pump out again with a careful look at electrics and hydraulics.
But the weather is against me again for the next few days.
