Well there are no Exclusive C5 Saloon or Tourers with Sat Nav (yet alone anything else  ) under £15k coming up under Citroen's approved used cars nationwide search! That was the only option I put in!

My budget won't stretch to anything recent enough for a Citroen dealer to still be interested in stocking it, alas!

I've heard that many are putting fairly young part exchange C5s straight to auction as they have no interest in selling them any more. Perhaps not fashionable enough beside the DS range...

My budget seems to be able to get me a pretty good 2008 model, or up to a nice, but with some issues, 2010 model.

Keep looking, and when the right one comes up, you'll get that 'this is the one' moment, you'll make the call and that will be it! :-D

I've got a 58 plate 2.2HDi Exclusive 6spd (Blue), Pan roof, full leather, hydro active, 19" Alloys, Front Sensors, underdash lighting, Bluetooth and Phono in etc. No Sat Nav, Xenons or Lane departure.

I've today just priced up the cost of owning it for the last 2yrs in servicing and maintaince. It's cost nearly 3k on top of 5k to purchase it (A/C pipes, Steering rack seals, Hydraulic pipes, Coolant pipes, DPF fluid (£1200). I need 2 suspension pipes for its MOT(£300 minimum for the pipe). It does if I'm lucky 34MPG on a run. Front end crashes over tabletop speed humps.

I've got to seriously consider wether to strip it for parts or continue with it. I've just done the Cambelt and Aux belt at 122k.
Mine has been a severe headache to live with. Almost as bad as my old Laguna's. I know it may seem a bit harsh and the last car (Saab 95) was better for MPG (2.3t), same mileage range through ownership as well.

Practically wise, my own opinion. The Massage seat on the Drivers seat is a novelty and after living with it not a deal breaker but I'd go for Full over Part leather any day, better seats. Front Parking Sensors are extremely handy as it has a big front end. Electric tailgate is very handy and still makes me smirk in a Car Park. Cup holder in the front is useless. The boot on the Tourer doesn't look that big but it will swallow a Fridge/Freezer. The Self levelling suspension is great especially for the holidays abroad and the Cycle Carrier with 3 bikes on. Be aware though some insurers don't cover the Panoramic Roof!!!!
For a change, I didn't touch it! It was already broken.

2008 Citroen C5 X7 2.2Hdi Exclusive Tourer.
1999 Peugeot 206 1.4 GLX 3dr.

This looks very reasonable...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-c5-ex ... 868871717?

He might stand more chance of selling it if he spelt 'Citroen' correctly in the title.

RHF damper top often creaked on the upstroke when going over bumps...took me some time to isolate the (very annoying) noise as it seemed to be coming from directly behind the steering wheel. Replicated it by lifting the front RH wing at the wheel arch. Dealer quoted £226 to replace both front tops but never did..damper top units are £37.50 each, dealer part...

Do you mean the foam dampers?
Mine creajs too, but never got to isaye the source. Can you share the link where to get these? And what would happen if it's not replaced?

Cheers,

Glyn
