She's a full aircon model Dan, despite being poverty-spec...

I'll take loads of pics... I've now done around 10 Xantia heater matrix jobs and I still find great satisfaction in doing them...

This will be my goodness knows how many clutch job too!

Can't wait to get stuck in and get cracking on both jobs... I've had all the parts in stock since last year...

Fired up the Activa this afternoon. Started without any problems and now moved her into the washing bay ready for a spruce-up before she goes to the DSM rally tomorrow..

She's not dirty, just covered from roof to sills in dust and cobwebs!!!

Then, after that I'm going for a run... Had very little serious exercise today... Just a little 14 mile potter around on my bike...

The lacquer peel is getting much worse now... She's rapidly catching up Gabriel!

Definitely showing a bit of patina now...

Very early this morning before it got too hot I gave Gabriel a good clean and spruce-up...

In a moment I'm off out to give her interior a good old clean and tidy before checking her mechanical bits...

She has a very special duty early next week.. She's taking us to Robyn's Graduation ceremony

She, like us humans, needs to be nice and smart for the occasion...

I've now finished pampering Gabriel... She's absolutely fine in all areas... I checked her cooling fans are working. Most important as I have a feeling they will be needed on the big day...

Honestly, who'd think she almost 20 and has just shy of 210K under her wheels...

Delighted to report Sian's Nissan Pixo has just passed her MOT with flying colours...

I gave it a good check-over a couple of weeks ago and all was flawless... That little car is turning out to be good... Apart from routine servicing, tyres and soon to need brake pads it's been as good as gold...

Just a thought Jim, are you planning to reinstate the air conditioning? While stuff is apart to do the clutch etc would seem to be an ideal time to do it. Don't know if having the system evacuated would make it easier to do the heater matrix by allowing things to be disconnected.

I can vouch for the fact that the system worked well until the freewheel bearing in the pulley let go.

From memory I think we had a tD of roughly 20C over the evaporator, which I deemed pretty darn good for a system this old - especially as that was stationary and with only one radiator fan working at the time. Don't think I ever had it set to fully cold when driving as it was too cold!

Was rather grateful for the air con in the 107 today.

I was not planning to Zel and I'm no great fan of aircon... I detest it in buildings...

To be honest, I rarely feel the need for it - I naturally run on the cool side and feel the cold dreadfully these days... Aircon to me is like living in a fridge!!! Even yesterday in the car after a very warm run I felt no need - I just wound down the windows and got natural aircon

And for the amount I use cars there days...

There's no need to evacuate it for the heater matrix job I'm pleased to say
