Guys its not out of the question......its just expensive with travel costs etc

The problem is it takes usually about 7 to 8 hours to get a good result on a car no matter what the condition you start with. It takes the same amount of time usually as the only thing that differs is what you use to correct your problems. The polishing side still involves about the same amount of work.

On the plus side of things, i dropped some cards of at Paris Autos in stockport and he has passed one to a Dyane and 2CV dealer he knows who is apparently going to get in touch as he has some cars to get done Could it possibly be that i get to work on Citroen classic beauties They would look great on my new website which is kind of in production

If we were ever at a show all day with a power source then i could do one car perhaps in that time?

Jim, id bet money that Rattiva isnt as bad as some of the cars ive done....i dont have any after pictures but below was a ford c max i did....it came up literally like new but the work was immense on it about 12 hours on this one done over two days. These pictures looking at them now really dont show how bad this car actually was. The photos are quite flattering and the marks you see are all scratches down the bodywork.....The first car i did for this guy was worse! cleaned on some parts with a brillo pad.....i kid you not

Lol and TBH the sides have never been machined, just the roof, bonnet and spoiler...just good old fashioned hand applied TLC on the sides

Well how amazing is the XM brochure It is great....

I am still pretty set on the idea of an XM switch...(I know most people will think im wrong, and perhaps they will turn out to be right?....although i hope they are wrong)

The deals still hinges on me finding the money needed to switch cars...new insurance, tax, plate change etc....but in any event im now working on getting the Xantia ready for a new owner.

I have picked up a new steering column surround and there are a few other small jobs that need to be done before i would be happy to sell the car on to someone and it be ready for the show circuit never mind the daily grind. I have a window scraper seal to replace on the drivers side rear, and a de scale of the bodywork and wheels to carry out. Its been recently fully serviced including box oil and mechanically checked over with just the anti roll bar bracket needing replacing. The hydractive system is working fine but the internal leak i have learned to live with. It doesnt affect the operation of the system with it switching from hard to soft and vice versa when its meant to, and otherwise its still very supple. I still cant believe how different the car sits and drives with the new bracket now fitted.....its the most dramatic change ive ever come accross for just a £24 part.

I have been lent a friends garage for a week whilst he is away so i intend to use this to get some little bits done.

Just driving the Xantia today makes me think im mad to move it on, but im dying to get something new to fix up...a bit like when i bought the VSX in the first place i suppose
