Well over the weekend POTD moved at a snail's pace.

Undoubtedly it is one of the most viewed threads on the FCF.
As ever join in if you can, and lets face it every single member on the FCF can, so please do.

So today I am going to inject a bit of randomness into the thread and my encouragement to you is do the same lets see what turns up.

The method

Currently there are 355 pages of posts, 15 posts per page 5,325 posts

Quite easy to select one of 5325 posts either by selecting a page at random followed by a 1-15 post at random, or simply choosing a post number at random.

So the minimum Rand generated was for Post number 3158 (Page 211 Post 8)
The Maximum Rand generated was for Post Number 3713 (Page 248 Post 8)

So what did we get Anyone curious enough to find out, and post up the random choices?

Curious enough, but is there a way of specifying a page or is it a case of keep hitting the nearest number displayed until you get to the one you want, cos if it is I'm not that curious

Thanks for that Neil, every day's a school day!! So given that I display threads with the latest post on the top, I counted 8 up from the bottom of page 211 and found Chris' agreement that a "Moggin & Natter would be a good idea". He did of course mean Noggin & Natter, one of the staple events of all the motoring clubs I have known, which hopefully will occur on September 14th near Whitley Bay. As for the other one on Page 248 it presents us with a picture of a cathedral :viewtopic.php?p=554013#p554013

It has just occurred to me that as I view the threads with the newest post at the top does that mean that my system numbers the pages in reverse as well so page 248 may be page 108 on my machine which would reveal Steve's hobby greenhouse with miscellaneous plants!!
Likewise page 211 would become page 145 revealing Gibbo's quote about the Minerva: "driving them is like riding a bull with a chilli jockstrap."

Mick nice random finds and still random selections, but I've come up with what I regard as the intention of my little game....so

Posts on the thread are numbered from 1 (my first ever post) in chronological order to 5325 which is when I selected the random post. This gives a snapshot at that time. Subsequent posts arent selected, and never change the selected post.

Looking at the thread now the selected post remains static in this classification it is always Page 211 post 8, or thread post since the start 3158, same for the other one.

Have you seen these little lovelys Neil? Photographed on HCVS (Historic Commerical Vehicle Society) events. Will sort out a link to a folder with lots of these if of interest.

Yes I lap that sort of thing up, photographs, and a bit of artwork. Two of the best transport artists are Alan Spillett responsible for the artwork in this book (deposited in the Pickled Egg Library) and Mike Jefferies who has this gallery here

Must be some decent books to put in the PE Library over the Christmas season.
Like this one. On the shelves of Barter books, and picked out for me because I like a bit of art the classics...(yes...paintings and drawings of old vehicles).

Never heard of this artist before, but the cover and the first illustration instantly appealed, and I know I will enjoy the whole book full of superb roadscapes and classic lorries.

The Illustrations are the work of Alan Spillett.

Well Peter, clearly you are pumping water through a UV filter at a fair volume, so UV usually used to kill algae in outside water features, large volume usually needed for continuous flow systems so I'll go for a garden waterfall and maybe fish pond combined?
