I only listened to the first 30 secs to ensure it was the one I remembered!! Sorry about that!myglaren wrote: 28 Jun 2024, 17:43 Did you listen to that Mick?
I found it most disagreeable. Very harsh tones and higher frequencies than I expected you to tolerate.

In a charity shop window....
With the instantly recognisable "Tubular Bells" part of the display, came some less usual "blasts from the past" in the display of Album Covers.
Anything decent in the tracks

Re: Pickled Egg Jukebox-Your Selections
The top two are old favourites that I have owned for decades, five decades at the very least.
Cleverly photographed a Shawn Philips album instead of the James Taylor one
Have several Country Joe albums but not the greatest hits one.
"The Fish" is the bass player, not the group.
Never listened to the other two.

Have one of his albums here, not that one but the one where he covers "Without You"
The rather tragic original
Have this too although it was only about ten years ago I found this was the original.

One from the James Taylor album
Taylor Swift apparently named for him.
And perhaps my favourite Joe McDonald track
And the one he is famous for
NSFW!

This has to be a strong contender for "the cover is better than the original".myglaren wrote: 04 Jul 2024, 16:14 Have one of his albums here, not that one but the one where he covers "Without You"

There are many but his cover is widely recognised as the best version of them all.

On the car radio last night travelling home....Gambo doing his "theme" collection "Four Seasons and Weather".
I quite like the extras on stories of the songs, although some of his choices are a bit patchy. Not this one a classic written by Bob Dylan as a young man, but probably the best known contemporary cover by stablemates Peter, Paul and Mary, and just for a slightly lighter but sentimental reminisce "Puff the Magic Dragon" as a bonus.
This is the Pickled Egg Jukebox, you don't get "chart acts" like Peter Paul and Mary in 2024
PS to all that youtube has just played on to "The First Time" by sung by PP&M. Yes the play "Misty for me/Roberta
Flack rendition more well known, but originally written by Scotland's Ewan MacColl for his to be wife Peggy Seeger.
Blowin' in the wind
Puff the magic dragon
The first time

Loved 'em back in the day but now, as a old wannabe guitarist the same finger picking pattern on all the songs really grates.
Never noticed this in the 60's but then who did when you had the lovely Mary to oggle.
