I have found that Energizer Ultimate Lithium (which can be had in AA size) are very good in cameras (very long life), although they are not cheap (probably £8 for 4 batteries). My camera is a Fujifilm Finepix S2980.

You're right about the Energiser Lithium batteries.

My first digital camera was a Kodak brick :-D it ate ordinary batteries in a few days but the AA Energiser lithium lasted a whole year, well worth the extra price.

I have a Finepix 30, goodness knows how old it is, it was best buy on Which? years ago and I bought it the following year for about half price. I have only charged it once or twice a year and I don't think it's ever gone flat on me.

Had the cop copter buzzing around the village for the last half hour, tried to photo it on my 20x zoom Pentax Optio but the sky's too bright, just got a blank screen. :(

The red rose has come into flower now, gorgeous scent, no idea what name it is, had it years. Think the outside petals have suffered a bit of rain damage.

All the outside petals on my roses are scabby this year too.

Had to go to Chester le Street today and the former marketplace is being given a facelift. Hard to see but the river/stream is open to view now, previously covered over.

Mustn't have been through there for ages, used to drive through it every day back in the early 80's.

We used to be there often, usually the market on a Saturday and Ibbitsons butchers, also long gone.

The V8 sounds quite dreadful. Shudder to think what the mpg might be, with 3-speed auto box and a wardrobe/parachute in tow - 15-17 would be my guess. Interesting sight, though.

Someone seems to have left a bag of nails under the bonnet! Although the fitting out has been done well but it does leave a question for me:

That's always been my question Mick,

Both campers and caravans mostly get used for two weeks and stand on a drive for the other fifty.

Why trudge around like a tortoise with your home on your back when you can jump on a plane. train. bus or car and go stay in a nice hotel, often for less cost overall.
