Campervan time then Jim, it's the only other vehicle that puts the same smile on my face. Could work for you too.

Ahh yes, I've always had a desire for a C15-based Romahome ;)

Davie, on FB, has suggested a Berlingo may suit me. I reckon he may be on to something there...

One of those could be converted to a camper I reckon... Do proper Berlingo based campers exist?

They do indeed Jim, I've seen a few with pop top type roofs.

There's various kits for the berlingo, from around £1500 new price I think, but it doesn't look difficult to DIY something a lot cheaper. The back becomes a bed, and get a driveaway awning for a couple hundred for the side. I'm going to investigate if there's a tailgate awning where the tailgate becomes the roof with canvas sides. I think it could become a super little one person camper.

I now clearly see a retirement project ;)

I will not be looking any further into this until Gabriel needs replacing and I have a feeling that's not going to be any time soon :)

Just as my (full) retirement is not planned to be any time soon...

I always fancied a 2.0 hdi desire but somehow never got one, you know that pale metallic blue colour. Gorgeous. :-)

Yes, I do Dave. I like that colour very much myself. A friend has a Xsara Picasso in the same colour...

That looks good Richard :D Would suit me a treat!

Shame the listing has ended as I could not see how much was being asked for it...

Suggesting on the Visa forum was that it was £2k...which seems rather a lot! The plastic bodied Romahomes seem to go for quite a lot though.

If you're looking for a nice compact camper Jim, you could always look for one of these...

Don't want to think what they probably change hands for these days though! Never actually seen one in person, but they are alleged to be quite a clever bit of packaging in terms of the space they managed to create in such a small footprint to allow to attach to a car with no mods (save for temporary removal of the tailgate obviously).

I like that Saab a lot Zel :D

Richard, yes, I've looked at the cost of C15 Romahomes and it's best described as 'eyewatering'....
