Re: Picture(s) of the day....
As night follows day
POTD Beer Club No2 follows POTD Beer Club No 1
and tonights choice from the "Golden" Selection is St Peters Brewery Golden Gatekeeper From Suffolk.
plenty of gates references on the FCF in recent days but not quite a "what are the chances of that happening?" moment, although Eric Gates did play for Ipswich.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Well I can't think of a logical link to your latest photo Neil, but my next picture has connections (in my head at least) to the animal & bird pictures on the previous page.
From 1990-92 I worked for IBM UK headquarters at Cosham (Portsmouth). As the Pug in the photo suggests, we didn't invest a lot of money in motor vehicles, although towards the end we put £2000 into a VW camper, and did a 10 week trip around Europe.
Anyway - this photo was taken outside the house we rented for a while in Wallington Village. The connections in my head are
* the swans remind me of the Wallington geese
* the jackdaws made me think of the squirrels that used to play in the back garden (Ok - they're nothing like squirrels )
* the fox (weirdly) made me think of the hedgehog that got stuck in our garage - was there for some days before we figured out what was causing the funny noises and the droppings!
Cheers
Alec

Just seen your post Alec, I was in the middle of lobbing this up.......no linkage rules on POTD as this Honda 750 four proves
I didn't know they were making brand new Honda 750 Fours.....gleaming chrome, and a gorgeous retro paint job in orange
...Sorry false alarm, L-reg

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
That's the great thing about a motor bike - there's so much less to keep on top of! A minute amount of paintwork, some chrome and a vinyl seat! Admittedly things like the air-cooling fins on the engine are fiddly to clean & polish, and plastic lenses left in the sun will deteriorate, but the to-do list is manageable!

The DMC have a few methods of monitoring the meteorological ambience.

Well today I give you the Telegraph Pole Sticky-o-meter. Today it was Sticky Telegraph Pole Bottom hot in England's most northerly County. There is the shadowometer, on a sliding scale from non-existant to crisp and clear. Obviously important on the FCF Pennine Cycleway Challenge

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
After this post 4 more to go and thats 4900 on POTD, so if you can keep us moving along through 4900 heading towards 5,000, please join in.
By then I would hope that POTD Beer Club has a few more contributions. Here is No3 and a bit of a nostalgic bonus with a 50 year old Apollo glass.....Odd name thats Hops from New Zealand being used by a Tyneside Craft Brewer.

Could it be that both the beer and the current F1 champion are Vegan?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

I wish I had my camera with me when I took the dog round the woods last night. After a few hundred yards there was a 'meowing' behind me and both Siamese cats were following us, they walked all the way round, a mile or so just trotting along behind or sometimes in front.
