Its a strong 8 for me on the interestingness scale. Did see a well chromed huge Triumph as well but its not the shape or style of motorbike I like.

Then we have one of the summer classics thread discoveries for me....you can buy a SAAB convertible for next to nowt

....and hardly a classic after all its brand spanking new, but it did catch my eye, with the sun glinting off the badge, and the vast blackness of the grill and of course "the look" strong and determined.



Course its a totally bland colour, and beige leather interior, and in contrast to its older Swedish cousin, definitely not available for next to nowt.

What I think was an Aston DB5 parked in the lay by opposite Hobby Fish on the A5 just north of Milton Keynes today.

Have a not great photo on my phone I'll try to add tomorrow.

Deanxm, commercial vehicles from back then are an interesting challenge to drive aren't they? My experience has been with a 1929 Albion bus. Great fun, and survived both not having dented it and with my dignity intact, but hard work!

Later Saabs really can be had for peanuts these days. Just be careful if getting one with the B23x engines as they are *very* prone to sludge problems which block the oil pickup strainer. The "Death rattle" is well known to many a 9-3/9-5 owner. Lot of car for the money though. Was well impressed with the 9-5 Vector estate a friend picked up for a few hundred quid, the holy trinity were there in spades. Grace, pace and space. Especially pace...thing was like a vast blue rocket ship. Sadly like many 9-5s after a couple of months it ate it's crankshaft bearings and needed major engine work due to the aforementioned sludging issue...

Well thanks to everyone who has chipped in with their spotting activity over the summer. I've enjoyed it . I have a bit of an eye now for SAAB convertibles spotted another 2 today after the season closed, and an on the road velocette spot.

The stadium-MK is hosting tonight's match France v Canada. Granted totally uninteresting to non-rugby fans, but for me a good couple of hours of entertainment.

What are the chances of that happening!

Well, I know of something interesting going on in Newport Pagnell. Apparently there is somebody converting a normal Citroen Activa into a V6 Activa. Not many of those around.

Yeah...guess who had forgotten about that this morning - until about 2/3rds of the way to Ikea.

Thankfully most of the traffic management didn't kick off (pun entirely intended) until later in the day so my journey wasn't really affected.

Never forget I live just a swallow's flight from the Aston Martin heritage centre Neil Astons are ten a penny around here so on that basis ia car has to be really exceptional to catch my eye...
