Yes I considered that Matt but the reality is that the Postfix I have ordered sets in 20 mins and hardens in 4 hours, enough to paint and support the tiles. The actual finish I need doesn't warrant self levelling as I am basically just going to skim over the rough patches to get a stone free finish for painting. Plus the 40kg was only £21 delivered tomorrow morning!!

Years ago I did my garage in industrial carpet tiles. Liberated from a skip awaiting disposal.

Not an issue for me Matt, the garage is not wide enough for working on the cars, so all jacking is done outside!!

Ah good to know, wondered if they'd sink in quite readily!
I'd need to re-establish large areas of the floor in my garage (i.e. clear out!) before I think about flooring in there. One day, one day!

Pretty good progress today, drive power washed with Pathclear and the cementing to flatten the floor all done. Ready for painting tomorrow, although I am considering skipping the paint and just putting down the tiles!! The racks have arrived as well so that is Wednesday sorted out!!

I would leave the painting and give the cement time to dry properly or the moisture will push the paint off.
Ideally needs a primer too.

Re: Just to prove S**t really does happen!!
You have convinced me to avoid the painting and just lay the tiles as it is. Not a problem as it only needs 40 tiles to go as far as I want to and I have 80 so could always re-lay if it goes awry!!
