Re: 207cc Crank but no start.
Glad to hear it's resolved and on the road again!

Re: 207cc Crank but no start.
Well back again.
Car ran well for a few weeks, even got it through an MOT. Then it started running rough, initially at idle, now all the time and no power. Can only move it on the driveway in first gear and full revs. Plugs, 02 sensor covered in soot. Replaced sensor & cleaned and reset plugs. No change. As advised earlier, check the camshaft sensors, although they were replaced as a pair a few weeks ago. Now I don't know what they should be but I'll getting 272 and 300 k ohms. I've ordered a replacement pair, they are not expensive (although parts cost is mounting). If that doesn't work, I'll look at the crankshaft sensor again. The fault codes were P1336, P1338 & P1337 at start and after the clean P1336, P1340 & P1339. They all seem to point in the one direction of crankshaft / shaft sensors.
So, I think two faults in this area one after another might be pointing to something, I just don't know what. Any ideas?

Re: 207cc Crank but no start.
Well, up and running.
Replaced the camshaft sensors, which came with readings of 250 & 270 ohms. Thats a full 10% difference which I feel is "high" but it is not something I've knowledge about. No difference. I intended taking the crank sensor off to clean, without much hope because the revs needle moved as expected; but was watching an Aussie on youtube with same car, same problem. Basic code reader giving a P1340 fault as I had BUT he said you have to look at the manufacturer to get the fault; he selected Peugeot, although the video showed Toyota was selected, and it gave the fault as no.4 coil, which in his case it was. So, I had already cleaned the plugs and reseated the coils but rechecked any way. Long story short, all the latches were fully home but two coil plugs looked as if they had come "back" a millimeter (or less) from full engagement, so reset and away it went. I will fit nylon cable ties to hold them.
Moral of this story; seems that the fault codes I had cam/crank had nothing to do with the fault or maybe the information from Peugeot isn't accurate as to what they have allocated to each code?
