Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
It's beginning to sound like the RT6 unit might have had it.
One last thing to check. What file(s) did you put on to the USB drive? A screenshot of this would help.

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
It's just bizarre that this is the 2nd unit that has gone into this state in my car. Have you heard of the car itself causing this issue or similar?

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
Hello,
I have a Citroen C5 Tourer 2014, which the Bluetooth is slow at changing songs, takes 2 - 4 seconds, and sometimes it dies and nothing i do, reconnect/remove device etc works, i have to turn the car off for 20 minutes for it to work again the next time, i was thinking if there was a software update that might fix my issues, im using RNEG2.80.E.2 right now, is there a newer one? and how would i go to obtain it and get it to update?
Cheers \o

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
Hi Lippen,
I can't comment on the bluetooth issue, but I do know there are 2 newer versions than your 2.80 out now. There's 2.85, and the newest one 2.86 as well. Be careful with 2.86 as this would most probably require an expensive trip to the dealer to configure to the specifics of your vehicle. There are plenty of posts on this forum about stepping through how to prepare for an update and the eventual update itself. Have a read through, as there's a good chance a similar question to yours has probably already been asked. They are a very knowledgeable and helpful bunch here. Best of luck.

can I have the idol update file pleasePaul-R wrote: 08 Apr 2025, 13:01 Marc has stepped away from the forum for a while but I can supply you with a link to my copy. It's an ISO so you'll either have to burn it to a CD or use an ISO loader on your (Windows) computer to copy the files to a USB stick. It's only 80Mb so you don't need a large capacity stick.
Check your PM in a short while.

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
Good afternoon, I am new here , nice to meet you and hope you can help me with ageing 508 SW from 2013 that I have owned since 2017. The map database has become partially corrupted and I would like to install an updates to the system and ultimately to the maps as well to resolve the corrupted database. I am trying to update from RNEG2.70 , but could not updated directly to 2.86. Can anyone share the ISO to a version in between? many thanks, AJ

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
I have version 2.77 but may I ask why you want to update it? I also have 2.80 if you have a problem updating maps. Try to avoid updating to 2.86 as this frequently causes problems with Bluetooth echo, missing options, incorrect marque logo, etc. There is a possibility that this might still happen if you go to 2.80.
These updating problems might necessitate a visit to a dealers (at cost!) so that they can download a calibration file or you might be able to use Mirascripts, although I do not have any experience of this.

Re: RNEG Firmware or Software
The instructions for mirascripts and the like as written by our friend Givemeabreak are easy enough to follow.
I updated her indoors RT6 last year and replaced the SD card. Her unit was randomly rebooting so I did the swap out.
I did experience some frustration with the process though I cannot recall what exactly, now.
We got original 2.86 CD from Peugeot. Cannot recall if I installed that in the end.
Ah yes. The issue I had was when installing the maps and the activation code which was required. I had to gen up on creating it myself as some file or other was missing.
I would have to look it up again if you required confirmation but if you search my posts you should find it easily enough. It was around the beginning of October. I’ll see if I can find a link.
I can see from photos and videos I took on my phone that I installed node.js and ran code to create the activation code for manual activation.
If you have to go to PSA for this you end paying a good whack for new maps which personally I feel is morally wrong if your vehicle had them in the first place and was therefore licensed to have them installed. They’ll do anything to rob the poor motorist.
