Well, 11 days since doing the fix and probably the most idle period the car has had in my ownership and still the tailgate has opened on every occasion.
Even yesterday when it was parked outside my office and I must've opened and closed the tailgate a good half a dozen times as I loaded up screens and computer gear so I could work from home - no problem.
Not a single 'bleep bleep' for 11 days now and no flat battery issues so far either.
Bliss.
