What do you think of my idea of trying to replace the Hitachi screen ?

I know I'm going back here a few years, but how did you fair out sourcing a new screen?

I eventually found a complete 2nd hand whole, matching numbers, display unit which almost solved my problem - I say almost because even this one had some pixels missing but it’s 100
times better.

On a RHD car one of the three connectors on the back was pretty hard to refit
