Oh sorry I should of said I found this post because driving today in some flood water about 20 mins later my mil light came on with engine something or other message on the screen , he still ran and after about another 40 mins and a stop with bonnet open sun shinning on the lump and me drying wet things the fault went and the power came back to normal, I guest my ecu got a bit wet and the abs sensors and this threw up a code , silly electrical stuff.

This was such a post proper edge of seat stuff....... What happened to the glow plug tips.... Was the flat road ever sorted out so not to flood again ? Is the Picasso still Alive ? ( not the one I've brought is it ? ) ... Brilliant post

Wow... That Small piece of glow plug ... So sorry that was a real bit of bad luck ..
My air box had water in it the filter was ok just mildly damp the bit that worried me was water in the maf sensor just a drop nothing to much anyway took it all off today and dried it all, the ecu and main wire and fuses sit more or less in a puddle !! So I made sure they were all dry , they were , and I've lifted them and held them up with cable tie they don't hit anything so there ok. The cover on the ecu is a joke !
Been out today for a medication run and alls running normal thank God.
I even checked the front abs sensors they were snugg and dry as I drove through some deep water yesterday so that was lucky.
So sorry for the loss of you Picasso it must of been very hard , I tried to save a xsara 1.4i 6 years ago loved it to bits it failed the last mot on emmisions , which was caused by a weaping head gasket after long investigation , did that took it back it passed, kept it going for another year head went again needed skimming, didn't have time to many hospital appointeds so I had it sitting on the drive for a while then it got mildew inside and well I had to admit defeat scrapped it , £150 so that wasn't to bad.. Do miss it lovely ride it was.
Hope your all good now ?

Yes thanks, now dumped my diesels altogether and run a "detached hybrid". 100% Electric Nissan Leaf for day to day motoring and days out, and a little £100 Petrol Micra for cement/sand timber/tip visits/wet labrador etc.Huskyxantia wrote: 16 Nov 2020, 16:24![]()

Two threads on the OTCL Bargain basement Electric and Bargain Basement Motoring I use to deposit my current motoring activity. Had the Picasso not had its dip in the flood, we would still probably have it now. For what many people would consider an unexciting car it was great. Remove the seats and you have a cavernous van, I liked the driving position, the vision, it was perfectly comfortable and the getting in and out was good too. On the road it was economical and suited my customary driving style.
Gave me a bit of a glow plug removal phobia. I ran a vectra at the time which had those exceedingly long glow plugs and resited changing them for a number of years, even though on the meter they were all dud. Eventually I did them as part of a job to rectify a regen problem.
