Hi Claire,
It is my pleasure to try to make this happen. I'll start making phone-calls on Monday.
Best regards,

Re: RIP Citronut
With regard to the DS restoration, there was an offer made a while back and I seem to recall Malcolm expressing an interest with just the DS in question.
If not Malcolm then certainly someone proposed it.

Re: RIP Citronut
Hi Juliet, there is also car sos. It's the show where they take the car without the owner knowing, restore it and then hand it back in some grand gesture. I think it may be a channel 4 program also. Then Malcolms family could get to keep it and use it as a tribute.Xantia97 wrote:Now this is an 'off the wall' idea, and of course would need the family's permission, I hope they don't think it's inappropriate, please accept my apologies if it does offend.
What about approaching Channel 4's 'For the Love of Cars' programme to see if they would restore Malcolm's DS and do a show about it? I don't think they've done anything with hydropneumatic suspension. If there is another series they may do the same as the last one so the cars are auctioned off and the proceeds go to the family.
Just a thought, it would be a nice tribute if we could pull it off.
Juliet
My condolences to you and your family and friends Claire.

You could perhaps have a wort with Fuzz. I like the program and like the way that fuzz is a purist loving originality.

Hi, couldn't access the link for some reason, could you please re-link, thanks.myglaren wrote:With regard to the DS restoration, there was an offer made a while back and I seem to recall Malcolm expressing an interest with just the DS in question.

I'll try and get some info out of Channel 4 on Monday and report back.
Speaking to Fuzz is a good idea, the more opportunities the better, then the family can decide what they want to do with the car.

New UK Car Restoration Show for ITV Looking to Help
Is your beloved project rusting away in the garage? Have you bitten off more than you can chew
modding your motor? We could be the answer to your prayers.
North One Television, makers of Speed With Guy Martin, The Gadget Show and Fifth Gear have been
asked by ITV1 to make a brand new UK primetime car restoration show and we want to hear about
your projects.
We understand that you may not have the time or finances to dedicate to your prized ride; so our
team of elite mechanics are standing by to give it the mechanical makeover it so desperately
deserves.
Interested? Keen for you and your car to be on UK TV?
Then please get in touch via [email protected] with details of the car including a
picture, a paragraph about yourself and why you deserve to be on the show.

Dad did enquire with a tv show to have his D restored, I found the text message reminding me to remind mum to call them with a phone number. Happy to give that number a ring on Monday as well and see who it is, I don't think it's Ant Anstead's number (For the Love of Cars).Citronut junior wrote: Dad did enquire with a tv show to have his D restored, I found the text message reminding me to remind mum to call them with a phone number. Got a dodgy hip and the car is awaiting a clutch cable at the moment so I can't go walking or driving so it'll give me something to do

It's going to take a while to get used to no Citronut. He had a great attitude and made me laugh loads in my chats with him. It's a great shame and Malcom will be sorely missed by myself, the whole forum and many many more.
