Just a thought, do you know why American drivers always drive INTO an angled parking spaces/driveways?(there IS a reason) I used to think it was laziness/ run of the mill driving habits....... is it the same in Ozz?

You mean there's another way to do it?

People here are simply retarded; the number who reverse over their kids when backing out their driveway is stunning.

The other oddity here is actually about remapping - it's almost unknown, and the few who advertise it want thousands! I believe its because the average mechanic isn't really good enough with common rail diesels yet.

Unfortunate really as it would have been interesting to know how it went.

Mine was finally done on Friday and it made a nice difference apart from reminding me that clutch was on its way out.

In Austria now, can report 135mph max. on Autobahn. SatNav reported 124mph. Speedo must be well out but I have the winter tyres on. Only marginally quicker than my old S1 Xantia by 2mph. Last fill up 43mpg at average 76.26 mph. I was a bit disappointed with the fuel consumption but have nothing to compare it against. It did include a long detour because of an incident so actual running speed was generally between 100-120 mph where safe to do so.

All things considered 43mpg ain't bad especially when price was 88.3p per litre. Newspapers here reckon it could be as low as 81.8p by New Year!!!

and how much is the clutch to change and the flywheel (DMF) to renew ?

I always thought there was a reason lower HP cars had different grades of clutch vrs the higher Hp ones

Started life as a 110 so 21 spline as opposed to 18.

Bought with dicky clutch at 162k. Now 178k. Just managed to free it up by some rough treatment. Extra just exacerbates situation and made it rear its ugly head.

Clutch £88 + VAT but exclusive of blood, sweat and tears!

Not DMF in S2 allegedly.

Why do you reckon to MPG? Need to test on 70 mph run in UK as had 59.5mpg tickling the throttle.

Sorry to drag this back on topic, but the man from Celtic Tuning came out on the morning of Christmas Eve to remap the car. He was very competent, and the job was done without any problems or difficulties.
I haven't driven very far as yet, but the improvement in torque is very noticeable, and the car feels a lot more lively. Fuel consumption at a steady 55-60 seems to be showing an improvement of about 5mpg. Early days then but so far I'm very pleased with the results.
On the test drive I took the car up a steep hill, and cam up behind a van which I thought I'd overtake when I got to the top. No chance, it shot off down the road like a scalded cat and I don't think I could have got close to it. A bit of googling reveals that the van in question was a Brabus Vito - with a 224 hp V6 diesel. No wonder the bloody thing went so fast!
