I would be ecstatic if I managed to pop the bonnet from under the car without destroying anything. It would open up a few more solutions to the problem of getting into the car. Chris if you or any other forum members have an idiots guide to how to do it that would be great

Long thread and my short reply :
- Don't brake window since it is not that easy to install a new one.
- Lock oil, WD40 (in cold countries we use gun oil) or similar, patience and try both front doors locks.

Guess what. I have just gone out to the old Xantia, sprayed WD40 down the shank of the key, turned it and hey presto, abracadabra, and open sesame the doors have just opened!

Apologies to forum members who have scratched their heads and racked their brains to come up with innovative solutions but eventually the simplest one has worked and so far the window remains intact!

Thanks for all the contributions, hopefully they will be stored away for future use.

Its been an intriguing little puzzle, but ultimately a little bit of an anticlimactic conclusion, and a touch of redface on my part!
