Right, Spheres.

My experience:

No need for the pukka ones unless you are going to hang it off the bleeding edge...

Normal Hydractive Xantia spheres are fine in all places. I use Xantia Hydractive Estate rear corners on mine.

There are two specials on an Activa. The Activa Accumulator is am anti-sink style sphere blown up to 62 bars. The Activa Balancing Sphere is an accumulator blown up to 30 bars. Pleiades can make both for you.

Surprisingly good value. Around £230 give or take a quid or two.

Good because if it went off when turning on sports mode and the lights are on it indicates that the Hydractive system isn't working.

Just paid for them now, including postage was £237.

I'm happy with that for the piece of mind knowing that they are all new and correct.

I am planning on getting spheres changed then taking a trip to visit John. I reckon there might be a fault stored which stops you going into sports mode. Sound viable?

Can I have a ram bush please Jim?

I can't think of any faults that'll prevent sport mode but at least on a Lexia you'll be able to see if the switch is switching the ECU between normal and sport. Give John my best regards when you see him :-D

Yes, of course. PM me your address at some point and I'll pop one in the post...

It may take a few days as I've got to choose a day when I'm feeling in good order before I fire up the lathe. And my tablets say I shouldn't operate machinery. They say i shouldn't drive but I ignore that too

Thanks Jim. PM sent.

It will be off to my mates garage when the spheres arrive next week for a full suspension overhaul, and I felt it best to fit the replacement bush at the same time
