I'd be hitting Leboncoin etc and searching "citroen c6 pièces".

Also if a headlight is only broken on the lugs you can readily plastic weld it...

Its not the body panels that will criple the project expensive though they are, usualy with a wheel impact like that that pushed the wing and door back there will be damage to the tub and As david says a front subframe and wishbone at least then with the tree too i dread to think of the damage to the exhaust/hydraulics, this really dissapoints me as i would have liked to have a C6 in a few years but if the parts supply is what i think it is then its never going to happen, Its a lovely car, but not lovely enough to justify the eye watering cost of parts for me anyway. :(

XM Prestige PRV6 92
Talbot Express Autotrail Chinook 89
Mitsubishi L200 Trojan 14
Xantia Activa 95, sold (missed)

Service Citroen is awesome, it shows me pictures of all the parts i used to be able to buy............

It makes me wonder what will happen with this car, clearly very/too expensive to put back on the road and with the very low volumes of C6's sold not many cars around to sell spares for, particularly as all of the damaged components are the most common to suffer in a collision, little call/value for boot lids etc. Other than the engine to be used in a Jag or Land Rover how much else is useful from a business point of view?

It's no wonder we are paying near 300 quid to insure old cars when models like this are written off so easily. It is there in other modern marques as well. Between that and personal injury claims

There is such waste that it does make you think about the future.

As a side note on the headlamps. A lot of manufacturers have desinged the headlamp mounting brackets to break in an impact, especially expensive xenons & directional ones. Repair kits are available at a fraction of the cost of the complete lamp units. On newer style citroen headlamps the outer 'glass' is practically impossible to break so most of the time just the brackets need repaired. The idea of this is to reduce accident repair costs.
Just checked on the C6 & there is a repair kit available for £65 + vat (part no 621278)

...already up to £1850.

Steve's right - you really need a donor car to nab all of the bits off of. The thought run across dad's mind to buy it to break and keep the engine and box for his C6. Would be a mammoth task though and are the 3.0 engines compatible to go into the 2.7 cars? What other small changes are there? Electricals? Looms? Etc...

£1000-£1500 was our limit really so we're out. Anybody seriously thinking of buying it? :?:

Ah! I wondered where you got your leather interior from! Good save - would've been a shame to see it chucked. :)

I had seen that one Steve and did wonder about it. I can't really see any obvious damage though.

Franklin, I've registered with the site and am seriously thinking about it.

I've got a budget in mind so will need to see what it fetches.

This is dangerous though as I've been looking at another C6 now. Found one in Edinburgh which I'm going to go and see on Sunday. An 06 plate with 23k miles for £9800 I think it is.

Surely you're best looking at a 3.0 HDi?

...didn't make the 3.0 HDI in the C6 in 2006 anyway.

There would be a long queue if it was only £9,800!
