They can be found in the Activas size with a W speed rating and I think the right load index too, or as near as you will get now. I have just looked on the usual online tyre places and can't find any at the moment, they should be available to order for a local tyre place though.

You can also get Firestone TZ200 (£88 each fitted approx.) in a W rating and also the Pirelli P7 (£125 each fitted approx.) too.

I got a pair of Michelin Energy's (V rated) for my Activa, as I like to try and stick with Michelins when possible. I was a bit concerned that they would not suit an Activa being an Energy tyre but they are pretty decent really. As the Activa uses a higher tyre pressure they dont seem to be affected too much by a soft sidewall and they provide a good ride with good refinement and the grip in the dry is as good as you could need. Wet grip is decent and much better than its mix-match of tyres it had before.

I recently moved those to the back as I want to scrub off the others, which are V rated Fulda Carrat Progresso and actually they are good tyres, not nearly as bad as I was expecting. They are not quite as grippy as the Michelins, the back was very lively, even in the dry it would squeal its rear tyre when cornering (as intended!) but with them swapped to the front the Michelins provide the back with more grip. The Fuldas on the front are ok and I would recommend them as a cheaper option to the Uniroyals, Michelins or Pirellis etc.

Ill no doubt replace the Fuldas with some more Michelins when the time comes, so it has a full set. Or I may try some Uniroyal RainExperts instead.

Currently my Activa is running on P7s' although it appeared I was looking for hens teeth, or rocking horse s**t when I checked around for them, and I was wondering about a cheaper alternative.

I've found that too, P7's on mine are great, but don't seem available any more.
There's a new P6 that I ended getting instead that are ok

So are the P6s' up to the same spec?

Well, they're round and allow the car to roll :D

They seem to grip the road as well as the P7s, still quieter than the continentals I once made the mistake of getting.
Don't know if they last as long yet.

I guess Activa's anti-roll system can cope with those...

Anti roll tyres, now that is something that would not be very interesting!

Well, it seems im in need of yet more tyres for the Activa

I replaced the worn out Fuldas with two new Pirelli P7s (205.60.15V), these are now fitted to the rear. I would get another pair of these so it has a matched set, however the P7s are no longer made. Wish I had known that before ordering what seems to be the last available

I still have the Michelin Energy E3As on the front, however they have aged badly, the sidewalls are starting to develop small cracks and the shoulder of the NSF is looking shredded. They seem to be turning into plastic, losing grip in the wet. So I need two more fresh tyres for the front in the not too distant.

Sticking with the original 205.60.15 size and V rated tyres, my thoughts so far are:
- Vredestein Sportrac3s (£65) - Directional V tread
Seem to be a very good all rounder and gets great reviews. Used them on an XM and they were impressive, they are still on the rear of the estate.

- Uniroyal Rainexperts (£65) - Directional V tread
I would like to try some Uniroyals, but these seem more for wet weather rather than a sporty tyre. If only they did RainsportIIs in this size

- Falken ZE912s (£55)
Mixed reviews, some swear by them others less so, quite popular with some performance cars and tempting price.

- Pirelli P6 Cinturato (£80)
Seemed to impress Xac in previous posts but this Cinturato I think is new and for low rolling resistance.

Ideally they should be W rated, I can find two W rated tyres:
- Uniroyal Rainexperts (£73) - Directional V tread - As above.
- Continental PremiumContact2 (£98)
I have been impressed with Contis in the past but they really squeal when pushed.

Im leaning toward either the Vredesteins of the W rated Uniroyals. Trouble is I like to push the car around and im probably going to be less inclined to do so with pricey new tyres, they dont take to it well

What tyres are other Activa drivers running at the moment and what do you think to them?

You have expensive taste!

100% owned by Conti, my friend uses them on his V6 Cossie Sierra, and look at that price! So few W rated tyres that are decent its not worth using them, just add another 1-2psi to compensate if your pushing it.

I had the 912's on my S2 Activa, too soft, too squealy, wore out very quickly, a comfort tyre not sporty at all.

Cant see anything else i would choose for that sort of money.

 Only the best will do

Ive never looked into Matador tyres before, cant be too bad if they can control a Sierra Cossie! Hankooks get decent reviews and you seem to rate them on your V6 Mondeo, so they might be a good option to save me a bit of money. Which I wouldn't mind with the Activa at the moment, this year has been very costly car wise

That is something with the Activa though, the tyres can scrub off easily and so it seems sensible to go for a cheaper brand if they will be up to the job. With £200 worth of Contis on the front I would be less likely to want to use the Activa to its abilities than I would with £100 worth of Hankooks

I've got the Vredesteins on mine. Seem to do a good job, excellent in the wet. They need pumping up to the recommended 38psi though. They look great too!

After much thinking i have just ordered a pair of Toyo R1R's for the Activa, my current tyres are not good, the sunfull i got for about £10 is wearing well and gives good grip and i really cant fault it but it gives a lot of road noise, the tyre the other side is wearing on the inside edge but is getting old and perished and grip in the wet is now poor, i was getting wheelspin in 5th today in the rain which is silly, the activa is pretty nippy but should not be wheelspinning in 5th or 4th by any stretch of the imagination.
I had Toyo proxy's on my Honda and they were brilliant so i will go back to them for the activa.
