MOT Result... Ouch...

Well the Xant made it the 700 mile journey! However on the way back there was a loud bang and the muffler gave way... Snapped clean off from the tail pipe. I still managed the remaining 220 miles but had a head ache after listening to the BRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMM for over 3 hours.

Garage said I'd be £50 for a back box, so I've booked it in for tomorrow.

Blimey thats very cheap for an xantia back box, I hope its the right one.

That's about right - the factors are still probably letting it go
for £30-35 so even if the fitting is 'free' the garage is up £15.

These will lap up the miles - superb motorway cars and the
2.0 i 16v engine is no slouch either!

Hmm, vairy interesting. Daughter and son-in-law have one. They envy my 1.9TD for it's effortless hill-climbing and economy - never less than 40mpg compared with around 30 if not driven hard.

I agree that Xantias "are superb motorway cars" - but why the qualification of 'motorway'?
