Richard,
I bought that oil filter... Thanks
I also bought a can of Total Quartz 9000 5w/30 oil - the exact recommendation for the C1...
Both items were free postage

Re: Citrojim's Xantia V6, C1 and Activa Tales
Robyn's 207 is going in for an MOT today... Fingers crossed it's not going to cost me loads
Be interesting to see if the tester spots the broken spring... If he does, he can fix it...
Training is going well for the Swimathon... 54 lengths this morning which equates to 1782 metres and well over a mile...
I still had plenty left.. Those 54 lengths took an hour and I swam continuously with no rests...
Next Wednesday I'm going for 66 lengths...
I also found out I'm currently holding the pool distance swam record as recorded by the 'Swimtag' system
Very proud of that...
My swim style is settling out to be on the side of endurance rather than speed...

It's taken me a while to get to that level Adam.. When I first started swimming in October 2013 I could barely do a length...
To get to my current level though I've been doing supplementary training: at least 7Km per day on the cross-trainer with the resistance up full, 10 or so minutes on the exercise bike with the resistance up full and then weights...
Along with good food....

There was one job I had to do just before the MOT and that was to run the Pug Planet across it to extinguish the EML that comes on every now and again due to a phantom issue with the downstream oxygen sensor...
It's been to the main stealers to have this problem investigated a few times when it was Robyn's mums' car but they could never find the cause... A fault clear always sorts it for MOT purposes...

Re: Citrojim's Xantia V6, C1 and Activa Tales
Nice one - hard to believe that it got through with a broken spring though.... presumably it's just a bit of the end missing, and therefore not that obvious? Should be easy enough to change - drop the bottom damper mount off, and then it should just pop out. Mind you this is PSA, so it will probably require the application of spring compressors to get it out out
EML on is not in fact a fail, odly enough.... as long as it passes the emissions test.

To be honest Richard, I've not looked at the spring yet but according to the tyre place it's right on the end and I guess not visible unless the wheel is off...
I'll get it sorted for Robyn as soon as the weather warms...
I have spring compressors

Hopefully longer than two days Davie but in MK it's tyres that really suffer due to all the roundabouts...daviemck2006 wrote:How many days does spring last in MK Jim? Hope it's longer than our 2 days [emoji1]

Re: Citrojim's Xantia V6, C1 and Activa Tales
Ran down in the V6 to Somerset yesterday... Lovely trip. V6 as usual lovely..
Oil and filter here for the C1 oil change but it's going to be delayed as I have a poorly 407 belonging to a Team WFA member sitting on my drive with cooling issues... It's massively overheating.. Top hose red hot bot rad stone cold...
Thermostat already swapped and rad not blocked....
Under investigation...
Praying it's not the HG as that's an engine out job...
Will report again soon...
